I've been in the garden since late January when I app for 3 store cards. My score at the time EQ 653 TU 624 EX 606
My current scores are in siggy. I have 2 collections on TU and 2 on EX. (3 total collections- all total less then $1000) I've been attempting to do pfd, but not successful so far.
I have been watching my scores grow and feeling that app itch. I've been a member at NFCU for about a month but have not app for cc. So thinking about aping. My current TU 9 score is 662. Current EQ 9 score 748.
Inq- EQ 5 TU 7 EX 6
Should I app or garden some more?
You got 3 cards in Jan. Cool your jets for 6 months, or more.
Higher limit on NFCU potentially. Letting cards age and possible score bump while waiting. Continue to work on those 2 derogs.
What cards do you currently have?
Currently have -
cap 1 platinum (secured) - my first card opened 5/18 - $500
open sky - Opened secured - 1/19 $200
cap 1 venture one - opened 12/19 $500
Victoria secret - opened 1/20 $350
kohls - opened 1/20 ) $300
children's place opened 1/20 $500

+1
Even though you just got 3 cards in Jan, since you have not applied for a Navy card yet, and with your Eq Fico 9, i think you should apply for a Navy card now and then rest up. Navy is different from other lenders and imho, its a good bet to take. One hp wont halt your progress and even if denied you will know for sure 6 months more is better to wait. Good luck
You just got 3 new cards, definitely wait until they hit at least 6mo before app'ing anything else.
Maybe increase your capital one secured line, I think it caps at $1000. That might help it graduate, then you could product change it to Quicksilver hopefully after it graduates giving you something better to work with.

Cap 1 does not allow you to add to the secured line
@newfossil I'm with @AverageJoesCredit on this one.
Right now, you're really not in position yet to apply for credit cards from major lenders, and based on approvals from this year, you're still stuck in toy limit zone.
Your first navy card (if approved) probably wont be earth shattering, but for a lot of people, it's a beginning of a beautiful friendship.
So, if you have to app, this would be a way to go. I'm all for waiting, but around here, when we ask question "Should we", it often means "My mind is made up" lol
If you decide to apply, treat them well.
Good luck
I would garden a little longer. Periodically check the pre-qualification sites on Disco and Amex, that'll show you where you stand at least.
