I tried that with 2 other banks (Barclay to FNBO) FNBO closed my account within 2 months of getting it from Barclay.
Hmmm..Interesting.

Correct my ignorance, Best Buy Visa is with Citi. Wouldn't that be a backdoor?
Unsure about BK. Apologies. Only known factor is they don't like "high" inquiries.

this is a bit different citi has two different version retail cards and credit cards.. Very different divisions. Best Buy is handled by retail division and most likely the costco will be handled by the main CC division. From my understanding one doesn't talk to another really.. Different UW, etc.

Good to know CreditC. My BB MC was converted to Citi and I thought I was back in with them. However they won't PC and I'm stuck at my present CL. I burned them for a few hundred during my BK and they've refused to budge on 2 attempts for a CLI. Citi did not however close the acct.
This must be the difference that you mentioned in your post. Citi must handle the Home Depot card the same as the BB card. Citi refused to add me to my SO's card as an authorized user. OP: YMMV Best of luck, sounds like you have a good plan and even better that you didn't burn Citi.
That sounds like a viable plan if it does not work you can always apply for the CITI secured card and try to get it unsecured prior to the 18 month mark. They will give you the card 2yrs post BK as long as they were not IIB.

I also burned Citi before and was able to get in with the BB MC. After 3 mos I did finally get a CLI with them tho!!
