Re: Some Penfed help, please?

Yes. Immediately call and ask to speak to a supervisor for a reconsideration. They may tell you to email in but you can firmly and politely request a supervisor to state your case. My frind did this last week and went from a denial to a $10,000 cl REWARDS!!!! I emailed my recon when I was denied for the card initially 3 months ago -- grows FAST!!! You can email a recon letter but I'd call if you want faster results! Good luck !

Even new membership with NASA is an SP? I'm hoping NFCU will finally give me a CLI in June and I won't need to go elsewhere for a $25k+ CL.

DCU was like 1.5% lower for me than penfed, plus they'd do 72 months when penfed only wanted 60. It's funny cuz they still wouldn't give me a CC despite that they'd give me an auto loan lol but whatever. It's cool cuz now they also decrease my APR on the auto loan by 0.25% every 3 months I make payments on time, so I can pay my loan down faster. Works for me! I still want to refi it since my credit has gotten way better since I got the car but I don't really want another HP for it

Not always. They hard pulled me. Twice.

Yikes. In what order did you app for your stuff? If there's a chance they're going to HP me I won't even go through with completing the membership app, let alone a CC.

Signed up, apped for CC then apped for PLOC.

HA. So, I called, did exactly that, and the CSR said LOs do not answer calls. He gave me an email address and said I can send in an email asking for reconsideration, which I just find silly, but whatever, I'll play ball and send them an email. If they still say no, I honestly don't know if I want to stay with them because I have so many better SLs with everyone else I bank with and just don't have any other business with them aside from this card. At $7,500 this is basically my smallest SL next to the 2nd NFCU I have, but I know that one stands a chance of bumping up way sooner lol. We'll see.

Re: Some Penfed help, please?

I'm sorry you were unable to get a supervisor. Some of the front line CSR are cluless and or doing what they're told but you can ALWAYS get someone who will listen to you, have authority to make decisions and take your call. You're probably a lot nicer/less demanding than I am when you're out to get your way lol! But you can either call again and try with a new rep or email a recon. It is silly, is agree 100%

Anyway you can recon via email then call to follow up in a day or so. I really find it annoying when baseline CSR play that game because they know darn well that supervisors will talk to you and that most of them double as LOs. I really hate dealing with frontline people at most companies unless it's for very basic things.

LOL I can be nice...sometimes. Right now I'm battling bronchitis so I sound extra helpless, but honestly, Penfed isn't at the top of my "kill list" so I'm not super passionate about getting anything impressive out of them. I've only held onto the card this long because of their BT promos, but I'm getting kinda tired of seeing the high util poopoo on you alerts since my balance is 50% of my CL and I only owe like $3k lol. I have better BT promos on other cards right now too so it's just kinda meh to me. My promo periods on Penfed expire in a couple months anyway, so I'd just PIF. I'm going to send the email and try and be nice, if they say no they say no, and I'll just PIF when the BT promo expires and close the card. No harm no foul.

Yes you app for CC and PLOC right after membership is approved. Did you submit the membership request online? They will need a copy of your DL and utility bill. You can scan and send that thru the online application site. Sometimes it takes a few days for them to approve membership. And sometimes it's instant. Mine took almost the entire week. It's normal for your membership to go into review.

NASA is asking me for NOTARIZED copies of my DL & utility bill. Seriously, what are they the FBI? I think I'm going to pass if I have to go through all that grief lol not worth it for just a CC

us Re: Some Penfed help, please?

My copies weren't notarized. I just scanned and sent them through their site. Come on..you've come this far. Also Captool is only one out of many that has reported a HP. Most of us, if you do a site search did in fact get everything on a SP.

Re: Some Penfed help, please?

I sent them a reply asking if they did, in fact, have to be notarized. I said I was more than willing to provide copies but didn't have access to a notary. If they say that's fine then I'll do it but if not, meh. Lol I saw most people def all say it's a SP, but with my luck I'll be in the same boat with the HP lol. We'll see, I'll play ball if they take normal copies of stuff.
