Synchrony Credit Solutions CLI still work?

I recently got approved for a toy limit of $300 on the PayPal Cashback MasterCard. I kind of laughed at first but then I saw that people were able to call up and get their limit increased. So I called Customer Service first and got denied. I then asked on chat and got denied. I finally called Credit Solutions' overseas number and still got denied. Everytime I got denied, it only took them like 5 seconds to process the increase, which means they were likely just entering it into the computer which I could do online anyway. But from what I've read on the forums, Credit Solutions usually processes your increase for a minute or two, rather than just the automated increase thing. Have they changed?

For reference, my FICO TransUnion is 729. And the denial letter says "Insuffient information to determine account performance score". I have no clue what that means.

Anyone have experience with this?

I don’t have much experience with synchrony cli’s
But it sounds like the account is too new...Maybe?

There’s been recent successes I believe with synchrony (I cruise the threads fairly often)

If you don’t mind sharing what does your reports look like, any baddies, thin file - FICO scores not credit karma or the likes..

Insufficient experience just means not at this time. I was recently rejected on my cli request for Wally World MC and that 2-3 minute call lasted 20 seconds lol. I knew right then it was denial.

CS still works, if you are eligble. The thing is the PPMC is weird in that they usually want at least 3 statement cuts before really entertaining cli increase. I too got the infamous $300 limit, got rejected on first request too. Just used and payed my card. After about month 3, they auto increased me to $1050. About a month or 2 later i called CS and got approved for $3150. Months later, the other day as a matter of fact, cslled CS, was on like 3-4 minutes, good sign, requested 10k, got approved $9.5k . Not too bad coming from $300. It just takes time. Current score TU 740. This isnt Sync of 2016-17 where instant increases upon approval. They want time and usage now imo. Keep the faith

Ah thanks. Yeah, I mostly read the old threads from 2016 where people got approved for $1.5k and went to $10k on the same day haha. Hopefully i get an auto increase or a manual in 3 months, $300 is such a low limit to work with, especially since I'm trying to make this my daily spend card and spend $1000 for $100 SUB.

My credit karma scores are actually lower lol, but my TransUnion FICO is 729, Equifax 721 and Experian is 711. My history is around 16 months so I guess thin file? I didn't think Synch would really care about that, but something really must spook them to throw me this $300 limit.

I think the average processing time for any of my Cap1 CLI reuests is ONE SECOND.

As of 2:45 yesterday afternoon I can confirm that Credit Solutions (Overseas) is the best way to request a CLI for CareCredit.

Data Points: 

March 2019. Called the Credit Solutions Overseas number for my first CLI. Account was two years old without any lates (on this card) or spending since 2017.  I originally asked to double my existing credit limit of 2000, they told me I was eligible for an extra 4000. So $2000 => $8000 

TransUnion FICO: High 600s (IIRC)

Card Balance: $1700 out of $2000

Accounts Ever Late	5
Collections Accounts	2
Time Since Negative	4 Months
Average Account Age	7 Years 4 Months
Oldest Account	14 Years 1 Month

May 2019: Spent the next two months cleaning up all of my credit reports. Hit the Luv Button to get an increase of $2000. Nothing, no counter offers, I even tried asking again for just $200. Denied.

Card Balance: $1300 out of $8000

Collections Accounts	0
Time Since Negative	3 Years 2 Months
Average Account Age	6 Years 11 Months

The agent asked me to confirm my current income and some basic security questions (name, address, etc). Put me on hold to check my credit report and said I was eligible for $6,400 increase. In the span of exactly 3 minutes, 29 seconds I went from $8000 to $14,400.

Card Balance: $944 out of $8000

Accounts Ever Late	3
Collections Accounts	0
Time Since Negative	3 Years 4 Months
Average Account Age	6 Years 9 Months

This confirms that the automated system behind their Luv button is obviously looking at significantly outdated credit reports. Who knows, it might be the same one from 2 years ago when I originally applied for it. 

The only spending I put on this card is to pick up the occasional OTC medications.

2 weeks a go purchased a new mattress and got Sychrony card bc they offered 0% for 5 years and fixed payments. I spent 4400 and they approved with 6800 limit. This is bad bc it would show a really high utilization on my credit and my score would undoubtedly take a hit. I received the sychrony Home card yesterday and immediately registered it online. I then hit the “request more credit button” and it increased my limit to 22,000 dollars. So yes it works . Lol!

Hi @Anonymous  thank you for sharing your data points. In all my time on myFico, 3 years plus, this is the first time ive ever read they, Credit Solutions, actually letting you know what you are eligble for when shooting low. Very very interesting. They usually just spprove the amount you requested if you were eligble. If someone undershot, tuff beans lol. Wow, still find amazing dps . Congrats too
