Re: Target Red Card CLI????

I use my card about 1-3 times a month and report around $50 when statement cuts and PIF. I ALWAYS make sure to update my income every month though. I get a CLI about every 3-4 months. Just got a $1,000 CLI from them yesterday.

Limits have been $300 -> $750 -> $1,500 -> $2,500

Re: Target Red Card CLI????

Not sure on balance reporting, I recieved two increases and never reported a balance always PIF. I just reported a balance two months back for the first time.

Re: Target Red Card CLI????

Starting limit 500. Auto CLI to 800 after four months. Small balance of less than 10 dollars per month PIF each month. Crappy scores (640's)

Re: Target Red Card CLI????

Opened my card little under 2 years ago  having a balance of 20% on it during the 1st year.   used it couple times a month. below is my CLI history for my card.

SL $500

4 month $800

7 month $1200

11 month $1700

12 month $3000

19 month $4000

they seem to like a balance on it (they did on mine)    my scores were in the 650-670's

Re: Target Red Card CLI????

I've had my card since August 2017.  Ten months later, limit has gone from $500 to $2400.  Two increases.  Both increases came after I purchased a television.  Yes, 2 TVs.  And the next statement reported the balance.  Both increases came on that very next statement immediately after I made the purchases.

Of course, I don't think the TV is the trick, but maybe a major purchase helps.  My purchases were between $300 and $400.  You can see if it works by buying something smaller, like a laptop, and then returning it.

So, I agree with some other comments.  Target leans toward favoring usage and balances when it comes to CLI.

Re: Target Red Card CLI????

I can add another verse to the same song here. Got my RedCard 4 years ago with a $300 SL. I’ve never asked for CLIs but I’ve gotten several, raising me to $700, $1000, $1300, $1700, and just this past week to $2100. I’ve noticed also with the updating of the personal income area, a CLI seems to follow. This past month I paid it nearly off, and was given a $400 bump to my limit. I usually carry a balance on the card and am never late in paying.

Re: Target Red Card CLI????

I got auto luv on my redcard after roughly the third statement. Started at 500 and had it increased to 1k.

I've had it since December and haven't received any additional increase. I don't put more than $100-$200 through it per month, though.

Re: Target Red Card CLI????

Target likes auto-pay. I started with a 300 limit and it stayed. When I set the card on auto pay, increases started every few months. Now at $4k and upgraded to MC. I have not seen a way to request CLI.

Re: Target Red Card CLI????

I think they assess your CL based on income that you update regularly. Mine moved from 300->500->1000->1300.

its been several years, it stands at 1300.

I might start using the target regularly as its close to my new home. Will see, if the high usage makes them increase my cl.
