Well I just called them. No SP available. But they threw me a bone. Lowered my apr from a whopping 22.99% to a Huge decrease down to 21.99%
Lol...at least you got a bone! Try again in 4 months. I think I might be calling soon as my card hits 6 months old in 3 weeks. I'm so excited to try this. I pretty much made this entire thread to crowdsource if this was possible. I knew I wanted Barclaycard Ring (for the low APR card) but did not like the fact that there was no option for a soft pull CLI. It still might not be possible so I'm excited to find out.
Here's why I don't think it will work for me:
I have the Ring card and the lowest APR they appear to offer is 8.00%.
The way you get the soft-pull CLI is by asking for an APR reduction (which they probably will just say "No" to as my APR is probably the lowest they can offer)
I might not be able to get transferred to this other department (presumed to be retentions)
I'll try anyways and see if maybe I can get a 0% promotion for a few months at the very least.
Thanks everyone for your much needed information. Too little is known about Barclay on these forums when you compare to Cap1, Amex, Chase, and Discover and we will continue to add crucial information to understanding this credit giant.

That's American slang at its finest.
Thanks for the reply, SecretAzure.
I just finished putting about ~$3k over the last two months. Opening date is June 20th.
I have a new balance of about $1.5K with the recent purchases. I'm gonna pay that off within the next week or so, as my statement just cut over the weekend.
Maybe I should wait until its paid off to request? or request with the balance? I've made 3 payments of $500 every two weeks.
Thanks!

You're most welcome! I suggest making another big payment ($500 is fine) and then calling and asking for that increase. At best, they'll grant the increase. At worst, they'll say your account is too new. They seem to like people that spend big and pay big.
So finally got a SP CLI yesterday (yes on a sunday lol.
I called about a week ago and was a no on CLI and a no APR on reduction. A manager called me back the next day (didnt answer but they left a message), called back and again was a no on both. Just came back from out of town yesterday, and after my wife and i came back from returning the rental car, got a call (didnt answer but they left a message). Called back and told me no APR reduction available (that i have the best APR there is) but that a SP was available. Got $1.5k increase for a total of $8,050.

Got an increase this morning. Statement closed last night, no increase since the March statement. Have had the card since October 2013. Lowered interest rate from 24.99 to 23.99, not the greatest but that part doesn't matter. The representative told me that there was an offer for cli and voila went from $5600 to $8100. Not bad at all for no inquiry involvement.
Definitely a nice increase. Glad more are getting use from this.
Is there a time period in between SP CLIs with Barclays? If it's 6 months, then I might be able to get mine later this month (my last one was in March).
