I open my account, the Barclaycard Rewards MC on 1/28/15. It started with a 24.9% APR and a $1000 credit limit. For this reason it is only been used once a month to pay my electric bill for my garage which is typically around $25 per month and is paid in full each month. Every few months I've called in to try to get the APR reduced. Today, after reading the first page of this thread, I called in and spoke with the front line CSR who said I had no offers available then I asked to speak with a manager and she initially said there were no offers available for my account - APR reduction, SP CLI or anything else. At first the manager said there was nothing available but after talking about the high APR and low CL compared to my other accounts for a while and my little usage with this card due to those facts then she mentioned I had a SP CLI option available. I asked multiple times to ensure that this was a soft inquiry and not a hard inquiry just to verify and make sure we were on the same page. She asked for my income and my limit was increased by - get ready to get your mind blown! - $200 to a new grand total of $1200. The card maintains its status safely as the worst card I have and lowest CL and highest APR (except my VS card that was recently increased from $500 to $900). Better than nothing I suppose but kind of insulting when my American Express EveryDay card A couple days ago automatically went from $9000-$12,000 then the next day online I requested a A couple days ago automatically went from $9000-$12,000 then the next day on line I requested a CLI to $20,000 which was instantly approved.

Amex and Barclays are completely different creatures. I would just try to put a lot of spend on this card and then asking for an increase every 6 months...instead of every month. They do track how often you call.
Here I go again.
So a little bit over 7 months since I tried and got my APR down with SP CLI, so I tried again today.
Same route: called the regular SallieMae Mastercard CSR number and asked her to check if my APR could be reduced. She spoke very nicely and transferred me to an account specialist and the specialist was also very nice. My APR got reduced by 4% again (now at 12.99%). Then she read a bunch of rules and offered to run an SP CLI offer by herself. Previously, I had asked if an offer existed. I think FICOers have called enough times this way so they know what the next question will be. Anyway, I had to provide my income and she offered me a $3.5k CLI, which I gladly accepted. My new CL is $12k.
Now if only they'll send me a special promo or two. The only one I had was in Q1 this year and I'm already 22 months with this card!
I'm going to call for an APR reduction, but I don't think I'll poke the sleeping bear about a CLI. Barclay was generous with me , considering I closed one account with them and opened two others earlier this year. Neither of the current ones have even hit the year mark, so I'm not sure pestering them for a CLI would make sense. It will be interesting to see if they mention SP CLI when I call about the APR reduction though!
I called Barclay for my 6 month account maintainence. Called the number on the back of my card, spoke with the first rep then was directed to a specialist. First I have to say that the woman that I spoke with was SUPER NICE and friendly. Started with my Rewards card. I asked if it was possible to get an APR reduction. She checked my account and said she could lower it by one point (21.9 to 20.9%). I then asked about a CLI. She checked and told me that there wasn't any other offers available for that card. Then asked the same questions for my Apple card. I didn't expect much because I very rarely use this one. My Rewards card gets a lot of use. She checked for an APR reduction and gave me an offer that Donald Trump would consider HUGE... Went from 18.9 to 14.9%! Also said that there was a CLI offer available. Checked and said that it was $1200. So that account went from $3200. To $4400. Again, I'm very surprised because I hardly use it. I've had my Rewards up to just over $9K of the $10,500 limit then to zero.
Maybe I'll contact them in a couple of months to see if there are any offers available for the Rewards card.

Based on the info here, I'd suggest calling them every 5-6 months, not less than that.
Two reasons:
(a) they do their reviews every 5-6 months (as stated by some members, and as reflected in the success stories)
(b) it is more likely that there will be substantial credit improvement over 6 months than over say 2 months.
It does not seem that spend is a big criterion for Barclay. I do not spend more than $500 per month on my Sallie Mae - generally groceries and some gas, and maybe some Amazon etc here and there. If they were like Chase, I'd probably be hanging with a $3k limit
Called today to see if I would be able to get a Chip card, since this is the only card I have without a chip.
They stated hopefully by the end of the year. I said ok and asked if there were any offers on my account, the nice lady said there is a couple offers on my account because my account was in good standing.
She transfered me to an analyst and he offered me 1% apr decrease and $200 cli. He said he was sorry he could not offer more, he offered to hard pull my Transunion to see if I could get a larger cli. I stated no thank you, but I will take what I can get.
Will try again in 5 to 6 months.
This is a very helpful thread. Thanks to everyone for taking the time to contribute your data points. I'm looking forward to adding my information in the future.

I've been on a 6 month schedule after this thread started. Before that it was just waiting to see what happens. For my Rewards that I didn't get a CLI on, I asked if I should check back once in awhile. I was told that I should. The accounts are reviewed once in awhile so there might be an offer available to me. I don't see there being much of a credit improvement in 5-6 months. At least not this time. My current TU score is about 44 points higher than when I received my last increase. That came from the rest of my IIB accounts falling off.
Someone else posted that Barclay likes to see a lot of use along with payments that are more than the minimum. I'm still really surprised that the account that didn't get much use received an increase while the one that gets a lot of use didn't receive anything. I guess things like that happen in the credit world...
Was reading this thread today and decided to give Barclays a call. (I have a Arrival Platinum MC)
First try - asked CSR to transfer me to an "account specialist" as I had questions about my CL. I was politely asked what the question was - and once I said CLI request, I was told that manual requests could be made, but with HP.
Didn't want to give up. Called again, but asked for an APR reduction - this time was transferred to an account specialist. Ended up with a lowered APR, and a 1.2k CLI with soft pull; was asked to call back after a couple of months to see if my card could be upgraded to World MC.
