Helpful thread.
Called number on back of card, asked if I had any SP CLI offers. Advised would need to be HP.
Called the same number again, GOT THE SAME REP, asked if I had any APR offers. Was xferred to acct specialist.
Acct specialist lowered my APR from 23% to 19%. I asked him about SP CLI, he advised I didn't have any offers currently, but that I should check back from time to time and speak to either Credit Dept or Retentions, as regular Customer Service can only do HP.
My util is pretty high right now, which may have been why no SP offers avail to me, but I'll take the 4% happily.
It's been about 2 1/2 months since I called to see if any offers were available for my Barclay Rewards card. My Barclay Apple Rewards card received an APR reduction and CLI during that call. Called the number on the back of the card and told the rep that I wanted to see if I might be able to get an APR reduction on the card. He said that he didn't see any offers available at this time and suggested that I call back in a month or two. Has anyone else experienced this? I thought I would be directed to a different department like I was last time.
Just got a SP CLI for an additional $1,500 and an APR redcuction to 13.99% from 18.74%

@sillykitty1 wrote:Thank you Secret Azure for starting this thread. I just called and got asked for an APR reduction and if there was a SP CLI's available. No APR reduction available, but got a $1500 CLI on my US Airways.
Here are my data points:
9/2013
Arrival + approved $800 CL immediately recon'd to $5K (very thin file at this point)
6/2014
Auto CLI on Arrival + $5K--> $9K (9th statement, heavy usage)
6/2014
SM approved $10K CL (thicker file due to Amex backdate)
Moved $5K to CL to Arrival +
9/2014
Closed Arrival +
Moved CL to SM total $19K
12/2014
Approved for US Airways
Had to move $5K from SM to open (SM $14K, USAir $5K)
3/2015
Called 24/7 analyst, transferred 2 times, no APR reduction available
SP CLI on USAir $5k --> $6.5K
Almost no usage, only $.50 + AF to get bonus, currently have a $25 credit balance do to paperless promo
AAOA: 4.4 years
TU Score: 755
Barclay SP's every 3 months approx
Total Accounts: 26
Total CL: $208,500
Total Util: 5%
Update .... noticed Barclay had just SP'd me and my TU FICO was up to 808, so decided to give this a shot again on my AAdvantage Red.
Called the number on the back of the card, got transferred to a "specialist" when I asked for an APR reduction. Really friendly guy. Got me the APR reduction and then offered a SP CLI without my prompting
APR 20.24% -> 16.24%
CL $15,500 -> $19,500
(Have a $5K SM as well)
Current stats
AAOA: 5 years
TU Score: 805
Barclay SP's every 1-2 months approx
Total Accounts: 27
Total CL: $250K
Total Util: 12%
Not a lot of usage on this card except the last month due to a bonus mile promo. I also took a $7K balance transfer on this card in August I have been paying off at $200/mo. So, IME, Barclays doesn't hate BT's, like is so often repeated on here.
12th statement hit for Aviator card and because I havent used it I called to PC to something with no AF. They offered to waive the AF and give me a $2k CLI. I used this for two flights and that's it!

I'm going to give it a few weeks. Currently paying down my cards to go back to maximizing my scores. Will let it ride at 9% instead of 1-2 for awhile. That will be carrying balances on my Barclay cards (0% offers). But making healthy payments ($1500-$2500 per month) and giving that card a lot of swipes. Trying to increase my chances of this card having an offer when I call back.
I hardly used my Apple Rewards card but it received an APR reduction and a 38% CLI when I called a few months ago. Doesn't make sense sometimes.

Good to know. I was just given this response on the phone, and was told I could check back as often as I'd like to see if I'm eligible for an APR reduction. I might call back tomorrow and ask to be transferred as I'm pretty sure I should be eligible unless they just plain don't like me (account = 4 months old, low balance, big payments, TU FICO8 747 w/ sky-high APR).
Wrong thread.
Need to talk to Barclay's again. Been 6+months since I last did this when they bumped my credit line by 1500.
