I was recently on the Phone with customer service at AMX. I have Everyday Blue card and was given $7,000 credit limit. Asked Customer service when I could request credit line increase and they said after 60 days. My account has been open almost twomonths now so another week or so and I'll try to get it Bumped to like $18,000 and see what they say. Can't hurtHeart

She also received 7000.  Would you be kind enough to check back in and let us know what you got bumped up to?

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide Discussion Thread

Initial CL: 1k
61 day/181 day CLI: (please indicate whether 61day/181day also): 180 day request since 2x CLI at activation
Amex Utilization @ CLI: 75%
Overall Utilization @ Last EX Soft Pull: 3%
Number of new credit lines opened since opening Amex account or last Amex CLI: 2

I was approved for an AMEX BCE and received a 2X CLI when I activated my AMEX BCE in November = 2k CL

Requested a 3X CLI today at the 180 day mark, countered with 4k - I'll take it! And this was approved with me using 75% of the 2k.

AMEX EX Score: 705 (4/23)

Current EX Score: 723

Last AMEX Soft Pull: 4/29

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide Discussion Thread

Wow, this is a monster thread.  I'm assuming this question may have been asked somewhere buried in the 2k+ posts, but I'll ask it anyway.  If your SL is relatively high, say $10k, does the 3X rule still apply and one could request a $30k limit after 61 days of approval?  I'm not sure the range of SLs with Amex cards, but I guess what I'm asking is if there's a cap/limit to how much the 3X CLI can bring you up to.

I'm looking to app for the BCE card in a few weeks and have seen quite a range of SLs on this card in various different threads I've read.

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

It's the same. You can ask for 3x on your $10k but your credit and income need to warrant that increase

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

Understood, makes sense.

I'm actually a bit apprehensive about applying now.  I just checked for pre-qualified offers on the Amex site for their "cash back" cards and both the BCE and BCP were not given to me... "no offers currently" or something was the response.  A bit disheartening.  I know that's not a definite "no" sentence, but it surely doesn't make me feel good about applying just yet.

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

AmEx prequal is picky. I have 3 of their cards and never a prequal. If they approved you for $10k they like you.

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

Hey there are no here with Amx or anyone else. It's just my opinion but they're a great company and will give ample Credit line increases. but they want their customers paying on time...... That being said, if you wait the appropriate time and you have the income requirements they're going to give you more than ample increases..

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

I finally got in with Amex about 6 weeks ago. Starting limit is 18000 and 12000 with score of EX 695. Income of 240k for 2015. When activating cards tried asking for CLI the rep said cards too new and ask for credit line increase again 60 days later
