US Bank is fairly conservative, to an extent. Given your recent new accounts and inquiries, this was no surprise, but you can try them later when things have improved from an AAoA and inquiries perspective.
Understood. I also opened a checking account with them after applying for the card so I'm hoping that might make a difference a couple of months down the road and leaving some money in there. I heard they can be very relationship oriented.

+1....they are. I applied for the Cash+ and Travel Rewards last year when i opened my personal checking with them and was approved for the platinum versions with low limits (3k and 1k). I waited 9 months and then re-applied for the same cards and this time approved both for the signature version. Kept at least 4 digit balances on my checking/savings accounts during that span so it does help...give it 6 months and re-apply again.

That's very good to know. I like dealing with relationship banks the best because of that. Chase has been my favorite out of all of these kinds of banks to work with even though for a long time, they were pretty fickle with me. I guess Amex could also count too.

Sorry they declined you. It's irritating when they lead you on only to say no.
That's alright. I'm just so used to Chase's verification process and getting approved for their cards after they tell me stuff like that but am completely surprised that US Bank and Wells Fargo could do that kind of stuff and just decline people after that. Not a big fan of how it takes several days with those kinds of banks just to get a denial when I kinda think it would be much easier for them to just decline it right then and there.
I am a US Bank customer and have a direct deposit going in there of 7k a month.. Sure they can see that. They send me stuff in the mail "inviting" me to appy for there credit cards, but no pre-approvals. I have less then stellar credit still anywhere from 660-680 (still rebuilding).. Although I have been with them for years and if they looked they see I pay 2500ish a month to Barclays and Cap1 they probably want a piece of that lol. To scared to apply as obviously my credit is meh and think it would be a deny. They use the language since you are a GREAT customer, please apply for our CC or something luring. Nope, not going to do yet
