So, I was recently approved for a Barclay JetBlue card (like literally 2 weeks ago) with a $4000 starting limit. Sort of a smallish starting line but I was happy to be in with Barclay (despite all of the horror stories I've heard from these boards) after being denied early last year for their rewards card when I was still pretty new to credit. Now that I read up on thier new Uber card it seems like it would be a better fit for my spending. I don't think Barclay will PC my JetBlue to the Uber card and I'm also hesitant to think they would approve me for the Uber card with the JetBlue only being 2 weeks old. I also just opened a PayPal 2% card the same day as the JetBlue and they've both already reported to TU. I have about 20 inquiries total on TU (17 of those are well over a year old) with only 3 being recent (JetBlue, PayPal, and Discover which wasn't a new account but a CLI request). My TU score is about 710 at the moment and my utilization is around 15% for all open lines. What do you guys think? Should I app and then try to recon if denied? I heard some people have moved some of their CL on an already open card onto the Uber card but I only have $4000 on the JetBlue so I don't have much to transfer over even if they did let me do that. I know that no one can give me a definitive answer as to whether I'll get approved or not but has anyone heard of people getting approved for multiple Barclay cards so close together? I don't want to burn another inquiry if there is some unspoken rule about how long you have to wait to app for another Barclay card. Thanks!
Usually Barclay's likes to see 5-6 months between CC approvals... With that said if you applied and were denied you could offer to move some of your CL from your other card although that is a fairly small CL as well to open the UBER card. I would . advise to just wait 6 months from when you were approved for your last barclays card. Stinks, but really your only two options and I would say do the latter one.
Congrats on the approval 1st off.
Would it have been good to apply for for both card the same day? Is that heard of when it comes to Barcay aprovals?
Thanks!
Doesn't the Jet Blue have a sign up spend to get a bonus? If so why not just do you spend on the card get the bonus and then apply for the Uber card in a couple of months? I got approved for two Barclay cards 2 1/2 months apart but I did put 4k spend on the first card.
