The other day was just another day milling around in the garden and I got bored, so I went to X1 to see what they would approve me for, with no intention of accepting any offer (if I got one) since I'm really trying to stay in the garden and work on getting under 5/24. Went through the whole SP app process but when it came time to link my bank account, I decided no, not doing it, and just abandoned the app.
Later that day I get an email from them asking me to complete my application, ignored it. This was followed up by another identical email the next morning and again, I just ignored it. Then yesterday afternoon I get an email that says "You're approved, no need to connect your bank" followed up by "Your application has been reviewed and approved". It had a link to see my limit so went there and this is what they offered. Not a bad SL for refusing their income verification, but I still declined. I don't remember seeing this before in any threads but could be mistaken. Anyone else have this happen to them?
Interesting.. They use plaid and Penfed my FI doesn't support plaid so never been able to see what I would get for giggles as no interest in really the card. Didn't receive what you did, but did it quite awhile ago.

@CreditCuriosity like you, wasn't really interested in the card, was just looking for some kind of fix, lol. My FI is the same so maybe they're experiencing enough of this that they've changed their UW protocols somewhat. Didn't go through with it so who knows if afterward they might have sought some other kind of FR ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@JoeRockhead - that's interesting.
They approved you on a SP. Do you know if it would've turned to a HP if you'd accepted the offer?

@SweetCreditObsessionunfortunately I don't know for sure, all it had on the screen to accept the offer was the typical disclaimer that it might result in a hard inquiry, so who knows, wish I had a definitive answer for you.
Thanks for responding all the same, @JoeRockhead
Dang @JoeRockhead , I feel like the little creatures that lived in the locker in the first Men In Black movie that looked at them with awe... that is some cool experience. Wonder if they're turning a new leaf over there?

@805orbust That's funny right there, lol.... As for them turning a new leaf over there, I've been waiting for someone else to experience the same thing I just did but not be a quitter like me and follow through with the rest of the approval. To see if they truly let it slide, or ask for another form of POI
Dude... you calling me out @JoeRockhead?. Am i gonna have to assist you for the good of science? 🤣🤣
¯\_(ツ)_/¯.... Maybe I am, maybe I'm not @805orbust , but... I mean, you know, science does teach us a lot of... like, things and stuff. 😁🤣
