Re: question about chase credit cards I applied for.

I definitely prefer cash back also. Both my Amex BCE & Chase CFU were "spend $500, get $150 back. Sweet deals!

Re: question about chase credit cards I applied for.

You can get 3B reports on here. Click on "myFICO" in the top left corner of this page. It will say something about credit reports, offers a few options. It's not cheap, $29.99 a month for a quarterly 3B, but you can cancel after the first month.

Also Experian offers 3B scores & reports.. $24.99mo... they update all 3 bureaus every 30 days, and they update Experian every day. myFICO is good for alerts & updates, but they aren't usually in real time.

I have tried both. Both are good, imo.

I know there is a site that offers a free 3b if you sign uo for a monthly subscription... you can also cancel that after you get the free report. I don't remember the name, I've seen it mentioned here a few times.

Cashback...

It appears as a credit on your account, after your statement cuts. I always PIF, so I'm guessing it works that way even if you carry a balance. The cash back bonus... sweet. When you spend the set amount in your offer, you get the bonus back on your account. You can either have them transfer the cash to you, apply it to pay your bill, or with Discover you can use it as cash on an Amazon purchase.

Re: question about chase credit cards I applied for.

I've been looking into AMEX Premier Rewards Gold Card do you think with my scores I should be okay with getting that it has everything I'd want as far as 2x  gas, supermarkets( groceries), and restaurants what do you think my odds would be considering me not getting either card of chase even though chase is more hard to get in starting out? score is 769 Myfico

Re: question about chase credit cards I applied for.

Hi:

I must admit I haven't read every one of the posts ahead of me. It seems that your file was a little too thin for Chase. But, when denied by them you ALWAYS should Recon and be your absolute nicest, no matter what. It's free and the worst that can happen is that you don't get approved.

Credit Karma is good, but never use Vantage 3.0 scores as indicators of anything. To get absolutely current scores from all three CRAs, sign up for Credit Check Total on their $1, one week introductory offer. I suggest using an Amex gift card for the sign up and be sure to cancel the introductory offer before the one-week trial period ends.

The Chase Freedom is going to be much easier to get than the CSP. But, if you're denied for the Freedom, go for the Discover it. It's easier to get; you'll probably get a halfway decent SL and, for the first year, all of the percentages are doubled. Your 5% quarterly categories become 10%. Nothing beats that. After your first year with Discover, you can go for the Freedom.

If I've repeated info you've already been given, my apologies.

Re: question about chase credit cards I applied for.

I believe thats a charge card, not a credit card. Charge cards are normally due in full each month. imo, credits cards are usally more beneficial than charge cards. Charge cards are supposed to be easier to get. The AMEX Premier Rewards Gold Card has a yearly fee of $195, it may be waved the first year.

Please Google the difference between charge & credit cards.

The Amex BCE or BCE Preferred sound like cards that will fit your purpose. The PRG will also, but with a much higher fee. The BCE has no fee, the BCEP is $95 a year, it's fee is waved the first year.
