Well, I thought I was done... but to be fair I did give a 'disclaimer' that if I were to stumble across the 25k MR offer I would likely strongly consider it. ![]()
My friend @Anonymous told me the 'good' offers were once again appearing for some people, but I coudn't find it no matter what I did. For 'giggles' I tried using the browser on my Android phone, and there it was... an offer for the Amex ED card with 25k MR points after $2k spending in three months. I agree it's not as attractive as the $1k spend offer, but knowing that historically these offers have been hard for me to come across I pulled the trigger... approved $8k at 16.49%. ![]()
That's my highest Amex CL and lowest APR with them as well. ![]()
Since I applied from my phone I was unable to save the approval screen, but the new account is already on my Amex dashboard:
Honestly this SL was quite unexpected... my other revolving accounts with Amex were both opened with a SL of $1k. The BCP finally got an auto-CLI back in November ($1k to $3k - you can read about it here), and the Delta Gold is still at $1k. I guess this means they are starting to warm up to me... LOL.
Last summer when I added the PRG and Delta Gold my FICO score was immediately updated on the Amex dashboard as well, but this time that hasn't happened, so it's possible I might have been approved without a HP (I admit that would be rather sweet). When I have some free time I might dig a little deeper to find out for sure; if I do I'll come back here to update. Right now the EX FICO being reported on the Amex dashboard is from December 31, and is 765.
Now that I have everything that was on the 'list' I can comfortably retire to the garden, probably until the late summer if not the end of the year. There's literally nothing else I can think of that I need (or want) at this point.
Thanks to all for your encouragement and support! ![]()
Congrats on a great SL and APR. Thanks for all the data points and good luck when it comes time for the 3x CLI.
Oldman B still kicking
I have the same card. But it is not used often. Good to keep a card with AmEx....

Thanks so much, metech! ![]()
I've yet to be successful with a customer-initiated CLI on my other Amex cards... they always turn me down due to a (now) 17 year old BK that they were included in (I don't blame them).
However the auto-CLI on my BCP back in November is encouraging, and this approval not being yet another $1k is even more encouraging that perhaps they've finally 'let go' of the past! ![]()
Thanks again! ![]()

Thanks Bronze... yeah, I thought it would be best to "get while the getting is good", so to speak. I agree that for a no-AF card it really is a good one to have around, if for no other reason than Amex Offers and to store MR points should I ever decide to chop the PRG.
Thanks again! ![]()

Ahh so happy for you my friend! Hooray!
Thanks so much, jfriend!
Actually 'double' thanks... if it weren't for you giving me a heads-up that the 25k offers were back I woudn't have bothered to even check. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it... I count this card as a definite long-term 'keeper'. ![]()
Thanks again! ![]()
Congratulations on the wish list approval! ![]()
