Cap1 and their measly increases

What's up with Cap1 giving me these measly increases? 6 months ago they gave me $150 each on both cards. This morning they gave me $150 and $200 on the cards. That is such a disappontment. Their new home is the sock drawer. Anybody else experience this?

Re: Cap1 and their measly increases

Yes this the norm for Capital One.  They are conservative when giving out CLI's.  However, when one opens a new account their results are better and have a much higher CL than the older card.

Thank you for the wealth of knowledge I have learned from these forums. I am logging off as of November 9, 2022. I wish everyone great success.

If you're not happy with them, just close the cards and move on.

Re: Cap1 and their measly increases

I agree that their CLI's are historically very small.  I'm looking to add about 3 cards to my wallet in the next month or two at which time my Capital One QS will become a sock drawer card even though it's my daily user now.  I've received two CLI's from Capital One in 13 months, both for just $500.  My credit score today is about 80 points higher than it was 13 months ago when they issued me the card going from a hair below "good" credit to a hair below "excellent" credit so I would have expected my second CLI to be more sizable than my first.  No such luck.

Re: Cap1 and their measly increases

If these are rebuilder cards that they acquired from other lenders thy are never going to yield large CLIs I get this all the time from them on one that was an Orchard bank card originally I dont close it since its less than 10% interest rate but I dont give it much use either unless I need to carry a balance for awhile.

I'm sorry about those increases.

Cap1 being convservative on increases is definitely not my experience and I have seen people on here get great increases(subjective). I hear more about the card not growing beyond a certain point. I am wondering if you have a rebuilder card. That may be the reason for the little increases..but my rebuilder was a different experience.

Platinum pc to QS have had for 1 year 7 months, three increases $500-$7500

QS one year, two increases $3000-$5000.

Re: Cap1 and their measly increases

IMO they have become tighter on increases. For a while they were giving larger increases with the LUV button but I wouldn't be surprised if they modified the criteria, computer algorithum. I used to at least be offered a 1,000 increase.  My last offer was an increase of $150. They will soon find my sock drawer.

I recently hit the luv button in my QS1 and got $150, which I wasn't thrilled about.  But then a few days later I got an auto increase on my other QS card, going from $2K to $4K.  I wasn't even eligible to hit the luv button on that one for another 6 weeks.  So there's really no rhyme or reason why they do what they do.

I actually do have a rebuilder so that may be the reason why.

That's a big difference from one card to the next on the same profile. Do you use one card more than the other?
