Earlier today I applied online for CFF and received a prompt denial. Did not surprise me as I IIB Chase for $16 K about 11 years ago.
However, thanks to reading this forum, I knew I could immediately call for a reconsideration.
A pleasant, straight-to-the-point CSR answered the phone. She asked only two questions before telling me they would have a final decision in 7-10 days.
I had reconciled myself to having taken an HP "for science", but within 7-10 minutes an email arrived to tell me they approved me for the card. Shortly after, the card appeared in the Chase app with a spending limit of...
$13,400!
Chase Recon FTW!
Some data points "for science."
Six credit cards at the time of application. I opened two of them in 2014, and the other four in June of this year.
Utilization of 10%. Statement balances paid in full every month.
Income: $105 K
No lates. No derogatories.
As of this post I see only an Experian pull. 752 FICO 8 for that bureau. A few other flavors of FICO 8/FICO 9 sit in the 770s.
I opened a Chase checking account over a month ago with a modest direct deposit.

Congrats on the Chase recon and approval!
Awesome, a 7-10 minute approval is always nicer than a 50/50 7-10 day wait.
