I have been on the road to recovery this year! I have paid/settled all my deliquencies that have been haunting me over the years: Car repo, medical bills, charged off phone lines, etc. My oldest CC is a Discover card that was initially a secured card with a $300 limit, that graduated a few months ago to a SLI with $2,000. That $2,000 was my highest limit card.
My goal has been to have credit good enough to get all of the higher tiered cards: Chase Freedom, Chase Sapphire, Amex, Citi, etc. I applied to Amex Gold, but was declined... I felt a little bummed about that, but no biggie!
I bank with First Tech Fed, and was approved for their baseline Platinum card with a $1,000 limit. This is a win because I didn't qualify for anything last year!
On a whim this morning, I decided to apply for the Fidelity Rewards Visa Signature card. I have had an account with Fidelity for about 5 years from one of my former employers (but, I didn't start actually using them until recently).
Let me tell you, I was not expecting an approval, BUT I GOT MY HIGHEST TO DATE! It was also an immediate approval!
Approval Limit $8,250
Fico 8: 636 EQ | 639 TU | 660 EX
Fico Bankcard: 632 EQ | 651 TU | 661 EX
AAoA: 23 Months, Oldest card: 4 yrs, 7 mos
Util: 11%
Baddies: Paid & Closed, age around 5 years
I want to take a stab at more, but I'm not sure I'll have this luck with anything else, lol! I'm pretty happy with this! Hopefully, it'll open the way to cards with higher limits as I have it.
Congratulations!!! It's such a great feeling when you get a nice approval like that!
Congratulations 🎈🎉🎊🍾! I'm gonna tell my DW about this fidelity card because she has a similar situation.

BOOM! Congrats on the approval! Good luck on your rebuild... takes patience and perseverance. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
Good card to have if you are into investments, congrats ![]()
Congratulations on your approval!!
Congrats on the approval and the continued rebuild!
Congrats! ..
Welcome @Anonymous!
Congratulations that is great! No doubt your prior relationship with them helped! You should see the score boost by adding a third card, not to mention the assistance with utilization. That can be offset by the scorecard change for the new account. No matter what it is a win situation and you should be very happy.
No I wouldn't try for anymore for at least 12 months. At that point, if your scores are in the right place, another 2 may make sense. (There's no score reason to have more than 5.)
