Got In With Navy CU!!!!

I know I should have listened to sage advice from community members re: "My credit plans for 2023." I was advised to wait until I'm in the 700s to apply for anything further as to avoid low starting limits. Fast forward, I became a Navy CU member yesterday & after a couple of cocktails ( I know I'm not the only one 😝) tried the pre-qual tool. I was pre-approved! Took their Go card which is similar to a Savor One card in terms of rewards. Was not thrilled with SL ($2800) but from what I have read on here Navy CU is generous with their CLIs. And considering I had a CH 7 discharge 7/21 I should feel blessed anyone would touch me with a 10 foot pole. So fingers crossed. Definitely in the garden for a long time now. Currently holding a CapOne Savor One ($3000), Sound CU Visa ($10K) and Discover Miles ($8K). Last goal is a co-branded card like a Marriott Bonvoy but I can wait. And perhaps see if I can get back in with American Express. For those of you who feel hopeless please don't. If I could do this so can you! And that's saying something 😝

Re: Got In With Navy CU!!!!

Sage advice notwithstanding,  if you're gonna app with anyone before reaching 700, Navy is the one to do it with. Great job, and congrats... expect serious growth!  😉

CONGRATS!!!!!

It will grow fast, you can ask for your first cli after 91 days and 3 full statements. The max cli right now is 8k but if your current cl is under 4k its 3x your cl max. ask for 8k and see what they will give, ask via your account page, if you call in its a hard pull.

Further cli requests after the first one can be requested after 181 days and 6 full statements.
