So I realized today that it had been more than 6 months since my last round of requests to my various credit card issuers, so I made the rounds. Here's how I did:
Discover IT - Opened 2001 - 14.24% APR - CLI from $18,200 to $20,200
Amex Everyday - Backdated to 2006 - 21.49% APR - $35,000 CL - No Luck on a CLI or an APR reduction
Citi Double Cash - Opened 2012 - 17.24% APR - CLI from $6,700 to $8,200; No luck on an APR reduction
Bank of America Cash Rewards - Opened 2013 - 20.99% APR - $12,000 CL - No luck on an APR reduction
Citi ThankYou Preferred - Opened 2014 - CLI from $9,900 to $11,400; APR reduction from 18.49% to 14.24%
Not an earth-shattering day by any means, but I am happy with the results, expecially the big APR reduction on the TYP. At this point, I'm more interested in getting my APRs down than I am with getting my credit limits up. I'm very happy that I have two cards with sub-15% rates, and I'm going to keep pushing to see how low I can get them.
congrats
Congrats on CLI's and apr reduction !!!!
Congrats on the CLIs and APR decreases
Amex doesn't really seem to entertain permanent APR reductions anymore. For the past year or so all I've really seen are 0% offers or temporary APR reductions. They used to be one of the most flexible with APR reductions, but I think they felt they were reducing people's rates too low, so they just kind of stopped it.
YOU...
CONGRATES on the Very Nice CLIs and the reduced APRs!!!
Congratulations on your increases!!!!

This is SO FRUSTRATING. I am a big Amex fan--my Gold card gets most of my swipes--but the terrible APR on my Everyday card makes it the black sheep of my sock drawer. I don't want to close it, since it's backdated to 2006 and has a $35,000 CL. But that APR is rough, and if I am stuck with it permanently, that really sucks.
