I wanted to apy for Connect after the launch, I liketh The SUB, I gardened for it, but ended up on Applications Wall Of Shame
So, after applying for WF, I decided why not try again, it's been 9 months since US Bank approved my 3rd card with them, so plenty of time passed. Then was slightly elevated sub ($550), gotta give it a try, right?
No, wrong.
Anyway, application goes pending, and suddenly skies open and I remember why Connect isn't in the cards (I loveth me some puns) for me...I have at least 7 new accounts in the past 12 months with 4 being under six months old.
It was pending for 5 days, I was sorely tempted to call and withdraw application (you can do that if it hasn't been reviewed and approved/denied), however that requires talking to human
At some point I picked option to talk to human, human answers, I realize (again) that I did not change account nicknames, so they would see Precious, Sock Drawer Queen, and Wrong Card.
I hung up like I was calling middle school crush. I could have changed and called again, however that seemed like too much effort for something that's getting denied whether I ask for it or not.
Not too long after that, approval email came, and I probably looked like 😯
Approved for $5000.00, no clue on apr, according to WF my Fico 9 was 777 (twas 800+ a few days before, and that's what I thought they would see, but Fico 9 be like *nah, accounts with balances, destroy all life"
At the time of approval I had three cards, checking, another joint checking account (with my daughter),investment account, and PL that had few hundreds left (original term was 48 months, but I'm done pleasing Fico so it's paid off now)
Total exposure with US Bank was $81,000.00 now $86,000.00. (Lots of SPs increases, many HP ones too but only on AR).
This time, "official" congrats email arrived instructing me to add card to mobile wallet and start using, I would if I had it. I didn't expect official email to arrive untill September.
I had a nickname picked, but ended up changing it to "Challenge Accepted" because $5000.00
On a serious side, I'm still shocked they approved it. In 24 months, it will be another cash+, or if US Bank nerfs AR, I'll keep it as is.
I think I'm going to garden, but I reserve the right to change my mind
