Great line from a great movie! ![]()
I don't drink, so I'll never be caught AWI, but congratulations on your many approvals! I'd love to know what impact all of this will have on your scores once everything's been reported.

How did you get a 30 year SSL ???
Yes, I'm also a bit confused on your op @CH-7-Mission-Accomplished, because based on what was posted here, the numbers (or data) doesn't add up 🥸

I'm sorry, you are correct, it was a 181 month SSL @ 3.25% interest. It's paid down to $50 and next due date is 3/14/2033. If I were to do it again I would NOT have paid it down below $300 (of the original $30,000). I was so afraid of them just writing it off that I opened a second SSL with Navy for $25K for 60 months @ 2.25% and paid it down to $300. Its next payment due is 3/14/2026. I wanted to make sure that if Navy nerfed my 180 month loan for having too low of a balance I would have this second SSL for a backup. My Mazda CX5 is 3 years old and just hit 9K miles so I will likely die with that car. It had been financed through Alliant, and they pushed out the next payment date by years, but when I paid it down to $50, a few months later they zeroed it out. I was incredibly PO'd at them but they thought they were doing me a favor. My spouse owns our home F&C, so there really is no reason I would ever get another installment loan except for my OCD FICO obsession.
@CH-7-Mission-Accomplished wrote:So I haven't app'd for anything except a 30 year SSL with Navy within the last two years. Have a BK7 at 8.5 years. I've opened over 500K in credit lines since filing.
But tonight I went out to dinner at a very nice steakhouse. And had some wine. And then came home. And had some more wine. I've been AWI -- apping while intoxicated. Here's what I got (besides a year as a guest of the state):
Barclay's AA Red card -- CLI from 12.5K to 16K. Yes, it took a TU HP. It's been stuck at 12.5K for years.
New BECU CC for 28K. TU HP. This is my primary bank and I have a CLOC for 10K. Previously had a 10K Visa but closed it.
Got a new Penfed Power Cash rewards for $25K. EQ HP. I previously had a $20.5K limit that I closed years ago.
Have a pending Penfed second card. I forget which one.
App'd and have a pending NFCU additional CC. I already have the 5.99% Visa for $50K, a $15K CLOC, and two SSL loans for 30 years.
Got approved for a DCU $25K Visa. Previously had them for $10K but closed it years ago.
Got a new C1 VentureX for $20K. This one I'm most excited about. I love to travel and this has all the perks.
Prior to this drunken binge, FICO 9's were in the 840s. FICO 8s were in the 780s. VS 3's were in the 760s. And VS 4's were 800-830.
Income $100K.
Will report back as to the two pending requests.
AZEO except one $5 balance. SSL's are paid down to 8% and next due in the 2030s.
Zero inquries in the past 24 months.
"Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death."
So two days after my application bender, here are the results so far:
Approved:
BECU cash back Visa $28,000
DCU Visa $25,000
Penfed Power Cash Rewards $25,000
Penfed Platinum Signature Rewards $20,000
Cap1 VentureX $20,000 (only double pulled. I fogot EX was frozen)
Barclay's AA Aviator Red CLI from $12,500 to $16,000 (TU HP)
Declined:
Navy FCU Flagship Rewards.
(I already have a $50K Visa @ 5.99% with them and the checking LOC for $15K. I haven't received their decline letter but I pre-emptively sent them a secure message and asked if they would consider reducing the $50K limit card to $40K and opening up the Flagship to me for $10K. I really want the SUB for that particular card. I now Navy's total exposure limit is $80K on cards, so I had expected to get a $30K limit on the flabship without having to go for recon. We shall see what happens.)
Current open lines: $346,000 (since my bender was over ... I just love Betty White!)
I only have one store card - $10K for Synchrony Amazon -- where I use the account daily and spend about $1K a month or so. I like the 5% cash back.
I have previously opened and since closed another $250,000 in revolving cards.
I never opened a sub-prime card and never opened any of the bull**bleep** Comenity tiny limit store cards.
I have never paid a dime in credit card interest.
Two total installment loans, both. SSL's with Navy. $300 balance on one and $50 balance on the other.

It must be nice to look down on cards like Comenity or sub prime cards and refer to them as bull crap. There are many people who have to go that route , bk or not, and for some store cards can help spring them to other opportunities. Youve stated a 100k income but again not everyone has that to spring back from a bk. A little humilty goes along way if even to help another member who may not be so well off. To note , Navy approvals are not gaurenteed for anyone no matter what ones limits are. Best of luck going forward though.
I make SO MANY CLI requests after the bourbon starts pouring.
