@Xanthos472 wrote:You didn't attempt recon? They tried that with my Cash+ ($500), reconned it into $2K. You would've probably been able to get a lot more, IIRC my scores at the time were low 700's.
That's True, however yet it's in my best interest to simply not babysit even $2K - I have held US Bank cards years before. They are still the same as years ago and although i was a cardholder back then they were always super tight with limits then.
No biggee,. Just the way that they rule card lines.
Absolutely don't blame you...$500 is not worth fighting over or for it. That is why I am holding off on apping for this one from US Bank...they can give worthless/useless limits to profiles that should qualify for way more. It's their prerogative to grant whatever fits within their guidelines, but it is also yours to decline it, as you have done.
I finally got in with US Bank after no new accounts or applications for over a year. Balances were super low too. Got a Cash+ with a 15k limit after many tries with NO results. I am waiting to apply early spring 2025 to see if I can be graced with another one of their cards...maybe
@CreditMagic7 wrote:Called on for the SL only to find the approval for Smartly Visa for me a toy limit of $500. Are they really that CHEAP? And how do they expect at that line for a card customer to also open Both a Savings and Checking and move $$$$$ from investment accounts with that rediculous toy start limit?
Even before the card is even arrived i have called them and straight way CLOSED it citing that such incompetent silly decision of a start line on Smartly. I will not have my robust other Lenders im in good standing with reviewing my reports with a baby line from US Bank which would take a long long time just to reach $5K in years.
My profile sports many $20K lines, a 30K line and even a $50K line of all things. I have (2) $15K lines one of them from Citibank. I saw on Reddit those getting cheap 500 SL's and that is simply unacceptable. US Bank obviously has still not learned how to attract customers with potential for them to prove efficiency with an attractive approach to a viable product with this new Smartly.
No matter. I took the INQ hit, but it will rest in the closed card column thus not a danger to the active open accounts on my current profile. They are the same as they always been and the other card products are heads above this one.
For a data point my lowest line is $5500 with increases available even on that. TU FICO 720-3% Utility-AAOA 7 yrs-8 months-Oldest active account 15 years-active SSL from NFCU. Only 3 cards with low percentage balances. I been off this forum board a long time dropping INQs to boot. Maybe 3 chargeable INQs within 1 year on TU they pulled.
Yeah $500 does bite @CreditMagic7 .
We must have been reading the same posts I had referenced in Message 31.
Follow up DP to my approval @CreditCuriosity
US Bank used a FICO 10 score. Score was 778 via EQF.
I was under the incorrect impression my approval was from a FICO 9 or 8.
@NoMoreE46 wrote:Ok, I will go.
Approval amt: $15000
Pulled EQF 800 (FL)
0/6, 1/12, 3/24 with 1% UTI
(I opened a Smartly Savings account at the same time and plan to fund it to get the 3% tier.)

What state ?
Just got mine today (CT). It's a matte for the black, red and blue. The design lines are more visible when looking at the card from an angle vs head-on. It's not a 3D effect, but the colors pop more as you rotate the card. The lines are not embedded in the card, but are ever so slightly embossed so it gives the card texture. the US bank smartly logo is silver, but not as chrome as my pic shows (camera light reflection). I like it
Does seem like they planned on using all of the 7-10 days. My guess is they had "shipped" date based on a step before it actually shipped because I got the 10pg packet about the card, my debit card and debit card PIN docs all before this one showed up, even though it was the first thing approved.
