Hello everyone,
I've been a member of the forums for a while and I think the last time I may have posted was when I started my Debt Management Program. I've finally completed my Debt Management Program...paid off about $40K in credit card debt and loved seeing the balance go down and my credit score go up.
I did have to close all my cards but I am doing much better financially and after about 3 years of no credit cards, I know I don't need one, but would like to add a few. My only other debt is my car lease and my student loans.
I am a Chase Private Client because of a joint account with my mother and also have a regular checking and savings with them. My car lease is also with Chase. Since last year I have been seeing the "You're Already Approved" on a few cards, all with fixed APRs(22.99 for CSP and 23.74 for CFU ). I knew I would revisit once all the credit card debt was gone.
I have also just recently received a Discover IT Cash Pre- Approval in the mail. When checking on the website, the APR comes up even lower than on the mailer (11.99 vs 14.99).
Since I have paid off the last card, I have seen that my score has dropped. I know it will recover a bit so I'm not worried about that. However, I was wondering if I should just wait for my scores to go back up before applying? If so, how long will that take? I'm also wondering if I should go with Chase first for the Chase Freedom Unlimited or for the Discover IT Cash?
I have looked at the boards and searched for days but was looking for some more personalized advice.
Income $69K
FICO:
Experian 693 (dropped 33 points since December each time I paid off an account)
Equifax 688
Transunion 719
Any help or advice would be appreciated

If I was in your situation and had a preapproval with a solid APR on a card you want from Chase, especially if you see a preapproval when logged into your chase account, I would app now for it.
Thank you,

Thank you!! You were right!!! Didn't get any other responses but I went ahead and applied. Completely forgot that my Experian was locked so I was nervous when I got the 7-10 day message. Called the application line shortly after and got the 2 week notice. That was yesterday.
Called a different number just awhile ago and was transferred to Lending. After confirming my identity, she asked about the freeze, asked if she could run my credit and within a minute she was congratulating me on my new $8000 CFU. I'll be good with this one card for a while 🙂
Congrats on your new card!
