pulled trigger on US Bank Cash+ Update. Approved..but

Finally decided to give it a go. I was scared of wasting a HP on this CC. Would love the 5% on utilities and cell phone. I opened a checking account 3 weeks ago and prequal site gave me the Platinum, Travel VISA, and Cash 365. But I decided to try for the Cash+ instead. Hoping the underwriting is similar. They pulled Transunion here in California which is 752. No baddies and last open account 7 months ago 15 INQ but 9 from car loan 19 months ago. AAoA 1.6yrs No instant decision. Called in and was told no answer yet and to wait 7-10 days maybe a little longer since the bank CSR apparently sent 3 applications back to back somehow. Was assured it will only be 1 HP. Only received 1 alert for Transunion so far. Any ideas.

US Bank is notorious for manual review. That certainly doesn’t mean a denial. Good luck!

OP - when I apped they said they’d let me know. I called the automated line everyday and it would say still in review. I believe on the 4th or 5th business day it finally said approved. I didn’t know what my CL was until my DW received a letter saying I was approved for $3k. Somewhat of a semi slow process but I guess that’s how US Bank works. Your scores are better than mine at time of app and I had a ton of new accounts in the past year and was still approved. Good luck.

Thanks all. Let’s see how this goes. I guess I was afraid of this particular pull. because they are a conservative bank and I was sort of using this as a measuring stick for my rebuild. Waiting to know is hard.

As Cubs16 said, you can check status on the automated line. So, if you are anxious, just keep checking/calling. Unless you apply on a weekend a decision should be ready with 1-2 days.

I got the same thing when I applied. They never gave me an answer, then a couple weeks later the card showed up in the mail! I forget I had even applied!

Good luck! I just got the card myself without any accounts with them, since you already have a relationship (albeit new) you should be good. I've heard good things about poking the UW department for recon if anything goes awry. They smacked TU for me as well, and my score was 742 (according to Discover's Fico) and my AAoA is MUCH lower, currently 7 months. I'd say you should be good!

Update. I called in and approved for 10.5K SL very excited. Thanks to all for the support. I still can’t believe it. Not bad for Lol/24. However now I have to talk to the banker who I submitted my app with. Maybe I’ll start a new thread. The CSR when I called said that there were a total number of 4 applications sent for processing. 2 for the Cash plus card back to back which I figured it was a system glitch or bank rep error. But now she also said there were 2 applications for a line of credit done as well which I did not want to apply for, or new anything about. I’m concerned it’s something like Wells Fargo going on here. I was really considering moving my banking from wells because I’m tired of their shady business practices. How do you accidentally send 4 apps. 2 of which I never even applied for or wanted. Luckily she assisted me only one HP was done or will be done.
