Re: AA from AMEX

AmEx is a big org and moves kind of slow. I doubt it was related to something that happened so recently. Most likely, they soft pulled your account a month or more ago and someone just got around to looking at it. Since they SP every 3 months or so, it could easily be something that happened 4 months ago and you'd never know.

I'll definitely be following up with you guys when I get the letter. I may even call them before hand, as I am impatient

Hopefully, they won't beat around the bush and just tell you straight up what is going on.  Keep us posted.

Re: AA from AMEX

My FICO score? Really? My EX was actually 667 when I got approved for this card in June. So the same reasons they wouldn't give me an increase, was the same for the decrease. Nothing has changed. Just my score has gotten higher.

It really doesn't make sense. Along with, "the short amount of time you have been a customer with American Express?!"

Tighten belt times. Said so yesterday. Look for harder time to decrease apr (though not impossible). They need to bring those profits up, like getting all the charge cards under POT.

Re: AA from AMEX

Again sorry my friend Smiley Sad

The events according to the letter had nothing to do with the combining of cards so that's good to know for others

Reason I know Is the decision was already in the process from your Dec 19th pulled score

Whats the baddie referenced in the letter....old....new....updated?

How many INQ's in 12 months did you have?

Honestly when it comes to Amex and Chase scores may be referenced but they put more emphasis on other parts of your profile.

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: AA from AMEX

I'm just upset about it, simply because THE BCP is one of my best cards, but now at 1k? Not worth the $75 annual fee if I have to worry about utilization on a limit like that.
