AMEX Backdating Question

Will they back date the date if you have a corporate card then open a personal one?

I've had a BGR since 2007 when I started working for my parents company. I am NOT the primary on the account but, my card does show MSD of 2007. 

I just opened up a BCP card under my own. Is it possible to backdate to 2007? I just tried calling and the CSR I spoke to said I could not since I wasn't the primary. But, I do know I'm in their system since 2007. 

I've seen people do it with personal to personal and business to person(primaries on both) but not <b>business(non primary) to personal(primary)</b>. 

I hope I have been clear with this post and not too confusing. Just looking for some help!

No. Each type has it's own MSD.

Personal

Business

Corporate

 

I have multiple of each and they each have different MSD(s)

I CANNOT BELIEVE WHAT JUST HAPPENED TO ME.  THANK YOU OP.  THANK YOU MYFICO FORUM.   This thread along with this one tonight gave me the courage to "give it a shot."  I was a bit nervous and felt a bit funny but BINGO!

WhiteSOL, I dont think it matters if it's personal, business, or corporate.   It's based on what you request.   In my case I had an AMEX corporate card almost two decades ago.  I can't recall if it was charged off or paid off.  But based on my conversation with the CSR I don't think she had any idea or reference to my prior account with AMEX.

Congrats! I got mine backdated to 1995 also. Then my wife told me it was 1994, that we had our first Amex greem cards. So I did live chat again and got it changed to 1994 lol. It depends on who you get, some dont want to do it. Login in the morning and see if it updated, usually takes 24hrs.

Login to your account and do live chat. Tell them you have been an AU since 07 and want to have your MSD to match your AU account. Id say you will have no problem getting it done. Most people have better luck doing live chat.

Strange thing happned this morning when logging into my account.  

 

Two of my cards showed the MSD at 1995 but a third one shows 2011.  HUH?

 

What do you guys suggest I should do?

Ok so I just did it via the online chat and forgot to copy it for my records.

The CSR "James" was able to process the request and said it was done and I should receive my new card with the updated MSD in 7-10. I asked if there was ANY way to expedite it or speed up the process and he assured me there wasn't. :\ 

So it sounds like I was successfully backdated. But, should it also reflect online when I log into my account?

yes you were sucessful and they backdated to my corporate card too. It will update on your credit report the next time AmerEx updates the report
