No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
Some CSR require verification. Others do not. If she/he put in the request, you are good to go. You will get a notification that a new card is being mailed out. Once that happens, you will log on and see the reflected MSD change.
Congrats!
I still haven't figured out if this board is partial to new threads for individual questions or joining an existing one, so forgive me if this is seen as highjacking.
I opened a AmEx Costco TE card a couple years ago before I had any idea about backdating etc. My MSD was backdated to 1987 (for an old Amex I had pre-BK, pre-divorce, in a former life). I'm sure it's helped with my credit since then. But I was absolutely clueless about it.
I was approved for a BCP earlier this week. So now I'll have ANOTHER card with a 1987 date. That should help with my AAoA too, right? Or at least it should offset the two other new cards this week.
They will likely not ask for verification. If she put the request in, it's done. You're fine. Once the change is in, the next time your statement cuts, the change will be reflected on your reports.
Word is getting around that AMEX no longer backdates to the CB but will still show the backdate on the card.

Is that already happening or in the works?
@Anonymous
Can any reason MSD AMEX changers noticed that the backdate is no longer reflected on your CRs?
I did the math earlier and it would of added 1 year to my AAoA.
Already happened, there are few members on here that just recently had their card report show 2015 date desipite their MSD
