Yes it can, unless your credit is worse than your co-signer's.

No if it's just AU their credit won't be looked at.

What does TL mean?

How recent are those late payments?

It doesn't matter if the cards are closed, but were they in good standing when they were closed? Or was he/she delinquent on those debt?

How does your co-signer's credit fare compared to yours?

TL = trade line.

If you are just adding AU, then it doesn't matter.
