I am not really familiar with the card offers from Amex, but I thought. Lets try it and see how it goes. I was approved for both. I think I dont need any other Amex card. Maybe the Centurion if I can up my income in the next 2-5 years.

Not really sure of your income, but the requirements for the Centurion are pretty difficult and its by invite only.. besides, the platinum gets you most of the same benefits.. I would suggest researching what cards you will benefit most from before applying for more. Is the Platinum worth the annual fee?
I reaserached before applying, I will be using it plenty so it will be worth it for me. I was just excited to get it. I am aware that the Centurion is by invite only. I make close to 300k a year. I think that the Centurion requirements are much higher.

I thought that I had to keep them and cut the cards but had to keep them. So I have been afraid to get rid of them. But the more I read people have been tossing them as well as either converting or getting rid of their secured cards as well. For which I have two.

It's not just the amount you spend, but also where you spend it. Dollars spent on luxury goods and services count more. They are targeting lifestyle, not just income.
And don't hold your breath. People on FT report spending (not just earning) millions a year and not getting invites.
But, really...Centurion has been nerfed (and Platinum improved) to the point that the disparity between the cards is really quite small.
Ever since the platinum became metal, I don't have the desire for the Centurion card. Although it's made out of a different material, its not Amex's only metal card anymore. I'm happy with my plat lol.

No need to keep at all. Just a pointless AF.
But, why the BCE? Your EDP covers supermarkets and gas at a better rate, especially if you manage your 30 swipes a month.

Offer farming is reason enough for me to keep my BCE open. I have spending alerts on it, and can call the Platinum CS line with any problems.
