Amex soft pull????

I've called amex twice and used the chat and no one seems to be able to answer me. I want to request a limit increase (just got the card) but I don't want a hard pull. And when you go to request x amount there is no disclosure about the pull... am I to assume that it's a soft pull since there is no mention of it?

There is only a HP if the CLI approved.

Re: Amex soft pull????

It is a soft pull for sure. Just one of the things I love about AmEx.

There is no HP even if the CLI is approved. You are thinking of card applications.

AMEX always a SP of CLI's.. Matter of fact I just received one of those pesky denial letter today. Says my EX FICO is 651.

Need a CLI so bad..

Re: Amex soft pull????

A question, what AMEX card do you have? The AMEX card I carry has no credit limit. I called them many moons ago and asked what my credit limit was. They responded "It is based on your ability to repay." On a special occasion when I was celebrating a personal mile stone and spending outside of my norms,  my server was alerted by  AMEX. I was asked  to verify some informformation (discretely, via land line)  for AMEX to make sure it wasn't fraud, etc.  Upon assuring Amex it was myself and suggesting a range of expenses that eve, they said "no problem the charges would be approved". Highly professional, discreet, and well manored. I might add this was over 25 years ago. I have had my Amex Card over 30 Years as of this penmanship and am very happy with the firm, my card, and their team.

Updated scores 3/7/21 TU 849, EQ 829, Ex 818 (all Fico scores) Remember the Three P's: Pay early in Full, Pay on Time, Patience

Sounds like you have their charge card. AmEx has revolver (e.g., Everyday, Blue Cash, Delta SkyMiles) with CL, for which they can give generous CLIs.

I feel like I need the charge card.... it'll keep me with sense. I notice that the everyday card doesn't have a due date or it doesn't appear to. When I went to set up auto pay it gave me a list of dates to choose from the 15th forward to the 25th
