BECU is limited to Washington, Idaho, Oregon or something isn't it? As for the others, I'm not military and don't want to deal with getting my Dad's info lol

FWIW, any one can join Penfed, no military connection needed.   But haven't they started giving lower CLs on the first card, $10K max?

My first PenFed card came out with a $6,250 limit. Not bad for my file, that's for sure.

Honestly, if I were you I would open up a amex biz card, I have their amex 2%, amazon, and BBP, the highest limit I got is $9K but you could always transfer CL over, automatically and that way it doesn't get reported to the bureau.

Re: Any cards which will allow a 10k BT?

C1 Venture. 10K BT. Took an easy ten+ days to process and arrived via a paper check like it was 1985 again. I did  PIF w/in two months.

I suspect their is a $ bend point where it takes extra approval but that is a guess no facts. Somebody much more knowledgeable then me: do the other cards know about a BT before it reports?

Re: Any cards which will allow a 10k BT?

I joined NFCU in 10 mins with a deceased, veteran, family member as my way to qualify.  They don't call or ask questions, it's a simple "what was your grandfather's name and what branch did he serve in?".

My first card was a More Rewards with a $15k (I believe but def more than $10k) limit.

PERSONAL; Amex | AOD FCU | BBVA | BECU | Capital 1 | Chase | Citi | Discover | Key | NFCU | PSECU | SECU MD | Synchrony | US Bank
BUSINESS; Amex | Citi
F8 Current F8s ~750 Best Ever F8s ~775
TOTAL PERSONAL CL > $350k and TCL > $365k

Large SLs isn't something Citi is known for. Have you requested a CLI on the current Citi card?

I'd take a HP and request atleast $20k. That's if your DC currently has a BT offer.

Also joining Navy is a good move IMHO.

This is why it is a good idea to have a couple of extra credit lines available, even if you're not using them all the time.

Because right now, you really need those extra tradelines. Average CC finance charges on $10k is a waste of money to pay out. When you don't really have to.

Hopefully Navy will give you a nice SL, if you decide to go for it. It's not uncommon to get a $20k SL.

Good luck!

Yeah, I just got a small CLI on the DC. No BT offers anyway. I DO have an 18k unused tradeline with my BCE. But Amex doesn't want to offer and BT options at the moment.

Discover It: 26.5k
Amex Cash Magnet: 24.4k
Fidelity Visa: 21.5k
Apple Card: 16k
CapOne Venture X: 10k

I have no use for the Venture, even without the AF. Plus, I've opened and closed a lot of CapOne cards lol

I contacted NASA FCU just to make sure. I was told I could use the entire CL for balance transfers. The limit is $25k. Redstone FCU will also allow me to use the entire CL of $15k for BTs.

I don't see any BT offers for Amex either.

You really need to put a couple of these CUs under your belt. They have perks that the larger banks don't. Both of these CUs pull EX. And the SLs can be generous. Both of mine are SLs without any CLIs.

You could join either easily.
