These scores will improve a little as cards and a secure loan report lower balances
When I got my DC last Feb my scores and account age were similar to yours. I did have a couple of 120 day lates, and my income is significantly higher than yours. That being said conventional wisdom was that I wouldn't get approved because of the lates.
Not only did I get approved, but I got a SL of $7,400. I was very surprised by my SL.
Another good example of YMMV! Certainly not a "typical" Citi result!

Why $1300? "Because Citi likes to end their SLs in odd mentally unpleasing numbers "
This is so true, every CLI is something like 3,700 or 4,300 never an even 2000 or 3500.
My Sig has the Citi-DC rounded as 20k while the true CL is 19,900 (Why)
The US-Bank Cash+ also does this to me.
LOL. DW's Double Cash is $19,600. My DP began as $5500 and is now $12,800. TYP began at $3000 and is now $4500. Guess we're 1 for 3 in our house (for now). Other lenders (looking at you, BoA) are also really fond of their odd CLs.

Short age of credit history, so-so scores/income and DC SLs aren't typically strong to begin with.

So true!! My SL with their Diamond card was $3700 and I hate odd numbers
OP, we have a somewhat similar profile. The one thing I'll say about Citi so far is that they do send a lot of pre-selected offers. I got them before, but I applied two weeks ago and since then I've gotten offers in the mail for both the Simplicity and DC cards.
Good luck!
I inquired but was told it would require a HP, so I declined as I decided to do my bt on my Amex ED card instead.
My Citi DC limit has always ended in "300" from the SL and through two CLIs. One day once the limit is where I want it I'll probably call up and have them CLD me $300 to round things off.
I was just approved for the Double Cash card with a lower income then you, AAoA of 10 Months (longest card 1.4 years) and I was approved off a prequalify for a $1500 SL and 20.24 % APR.
That gives me a bit of hope. I could make a SL of 1500 work for my first purchase. 2500 is just padding.
@K in Boston and AJC you guys are correct citi is well known for bad sl unless you are mahraja he just got 2 citi heavy duty accounts back to back within 10 days the TYP limit was 20k and DC was at 11.6k so it depends on the profile i guess...
