@CorySoccer wrote:Hey everyone,
I have a BBVA credit card and apparently BBVA was bought out or merged with PNC...so now I have a PNC card/account. The only negative that I have really in my credit profile is the length of my credit cards. I had this card for a while. I happened to check my credit report and when it switched from BBVA to PNC it shows the length of my credit history as 1 month instead of the 2 years it was showing when I had BBVA.
When banks/credit cards/companies merge...do they reset your length of history with them?
Hopefully this makes sense....
Thanks!
Something is wrong with that picture as when I looked at my reports all 3 major CRAs show the name change from BBVA to PNC but retained the opening date of the account.
Each institution decides for themselves how they want to handle existing accounts when they assimilate an acquisition or a portfolio but it isn't unusual at all to retain the old history.

Checked my EX again and the opening date appears correct and the payment history carried over. Where are you viewing this info @CorySoccer?
@JNA1 wrote:My BBVA due date was always on the 11th, and the statement would cut between the 13th - 15th. The statement cut yesterday, and my new PNC due date is the 8th, and the closing date is going to be the 13th.
I don't believe there was anything in the literature that explained that PNC was going to alter the BBVA due date. I think that's an important piece of information that should have been highlighted in the transition.
My BBVA was also due on the 11th and is now the 8th as well @JNA1 ...
I'm going to see if there's an option to change the due date.

I'm going to see if there's an option to change the due date.
There's an option to change the due date. It's on the right menu. Click More Acct Services, then click Request Due Date Change. I'm sure that it let me at least see dates a few days ago. Now, it tells me to call. This is probably bc my statement is cutting soon. IDK...
I checked a cached version of the site just to see if they snuck the new verbiage about reviewing our due date, and apparantely, it's been on the site the entire time. You're right. It should have been more clear. I was wondering why they said that they'd waive late fees for a few months.
Thanks for getting this info @cr101. There is no option to find on the App for this request so I go online to the website.
Found the area you stated. When I select this, I got this pop up. So yah, kind of a fail to execute on this and not shouting out the due date change (and hence, the payment waivers...)

It should. I tt a rep about a wk to confirm that mine was still set to end on the same date. You can always send them a chat message or call to be sure. Maybe it's on your statement, too... (ETA: I just got my statement and it does list the date that the promo ends "0% FOR 13 CYCLES end date ...")
My statement just cut. Don't have the statement yet, but the site reflects a different due date.
I still haven't gotten my new debit card or my points card. Anyone else still waiting for these?

I'm still waiting on the points [sic] card.
Frankly they might as well take their time, since it's gonna be hanging out with my socks anyway.
