@Aim_High wrote:*BIG Warning: Be careful with balances on these if you use them. Ideally, you want to transfer a balance to an empty credit line and then NOT USE the card again until it's paid off. With most cards, if you add new charges, your payments may be applied to the BT offer first and you could get socked with normal interest charges on all your new purchases!!
Okay, thank you! So I did a couple of bt's, ask for some checks, having a bt check deposited. All on separate cards, all zero balance. I basically wanna see how this goes, reap some benefits and hopefully squeeze out some cli's due to usage. I could do this as much as they'll allow, it could be a very useful tool, esp. since we're self employeed. Just need to familiarize myself with this procress and learn the in's and out's...only one way to do it. So I did them all at least 1/2 my limits and they are all processing. Thanks again for the walk-through everyone!

Were all of these promo checks? A lot of times when you call and ask for BT checks they aren't the promos on your online account but at full APR.

Yes, promo. I didn't call, I logged on and selected the offer I wanted and then requested those checks. I will be sure to check the apr when the checks arrive.
That is because Discover has cut back 90% of balance transfer options...
Corporate greed...Now, Discover Card is only sending out loans and home equity lines.
Sad..I loved my Discover balance transfer options from 2015-2018

I still have BT option. So where did you get this 90% figure from? Can you provide a link?

And where did you get the "corporate greed" reason from? Do you have a link of the reason?
If you equate "corporate greed" with trying to make a profit, then all BT offers are due to corporate greed, they are certainly not done because of some altruistic desire to help the public.

And you can even say paying out rewards is corporate greed, because it generates more swipes.
Yeah, every time I redeem rewards, I curse out my CCC for being so greedy lol.
Got some more from BBVA today.
0% for 6 months with a 4% fee
3.99% for 12 months with a 4% fee
These are more in line with something that I would actually consider using if I needed it over the 9.99% for 36 month ones they have been sending me but the $2K limit would still drive me elsewhere.
