Balance transfer question

If I take advantage of a completely no fee BT offer
And I transfer it to a diff account and pay it off a few weeks later does this count also as making heavy usage on a card like a purchase?

Re: Balance transfer question

In what regard? How the bureau sees it or the issuer?

A BT is not a purchase by definition, but it does show activity on the account.

Yes, because you are using part of your credit limit.

Re: Balance transfer question

Under the right circumstances, the activity from a BT can likely help you if you request a CLI. But if you're using too much of your limit, chances are that it'll hurt you if you make that request.
