Have you tried to Recon ever?
I just tried apping, also currently under review. If they decline, hopefully may have a potential shot at recon.
Oh no! I just made an audible 'gasp' when I read the news (yeah, I know I should get out more... haha.)
Well what can I say... it was nice while it lasted. If they do turn it into a product that has no BT fees that would turn out about the same for me (and would still have value)... I actually use my two BBRs (at least one of them) for balance transfers anyway, and in my case the quarterly credits offset my BT fee(s). The new card might be OK, at least for my purposes.
It will be interesting to see how this situation works out...
First Sallie Mae and now BBR what's next!?
Wow, I guess I got mine just in time (2 weeks ago). I tried to use it for the first time yesterday and found out it still wasn't activated. Fixed that, but still haven't charged anything on it yet. I should probably do that before they change their mind.
I wonder how reliable this report actually is. It wouldn't be the first time a random bank employee repeated a rumor that might not be as solid as presented.
The article does say that the employee's info came from a memo, so that lends it at least some credibility, but without seeing the memo there's no way to be sure. Still, it won't be surprising if they really do discontinue the card.
If they start to force product changes, hopefully we'll have some choices. I'm not going to want a Slate-like card, unless it's actually better for promotional BT offers. For actual spending, that 3-2-1 thing is the only card I can see myself actually using.
I applied early last year and got declined. Tried PC from CR but they said it's no long allowed. Last month I applied again still declined. Both time they feel my credits are enough for me. On 10th my CR statement cuts, I plan to redeem the cashback and call BOA to cancel CR and recon BBR. Is it worth the trouble? I have at least 760 score and CR is my oldest card(only $500 CL though). And I plan to get a new car by the end of year.
How long before you can PC an opened card?
Somewhat of a newbie here but I'm just curious to know why the BBR is a popular card?
