Now would barclaycard still do this given I already received this mercury card?
Technically yes since Barclay still has the credit portfolio til the 21st...

Looking for some input on my situation. I've got the Arrival plus and just got the Mercury letter with the new card today. Same $15.3k limit and my CS is 765.
The wife and I are going to be buying a house in the next 4-6 months so I've been getting my score into the best possible shape and and trying to not rock the boat too much. Seems like the Uber card is much better overall so applying and then transferring the CL over might make sense, if they'll even do it....seems like from reading through this thread most people who did that had CLs well under 10k for the most part.
Theres also the downside of adding a new HP and reducing my average credit age. The latter is 18 years and I've had the Arrival for only 4 so I don't think it would be a huge hit, but probably not worth the risk given our upcoming plans. Thoughts?
Standard MyFico advice on this before closing is "No, don't touch credit......" IME, this is overkill, but even if the score hardly moves, you may well be asked to explain the new credit account. (I had to fill out an additional form indicating what the inquiry and new account was for). The Uber isn't SO great that not getting it now means missing the credit card of a lifetime, so it is probably worth waiting
But if you have plans to spend tens of thousands on dining in the next four months and don't have a comparable card, then go for it!
Thanks (sorry can't seem to quote your post for some reason), we won't be starting the pre-approval process until later this year so I'd probably be safe on having to explain it, but as you mentioned the Uber isn't that great of a card that I really need it that badly.
Definitely not looking for a reason to spend more than is absolutely needed in the coming months. Probably best to not do anything until after closing and then grab a card with a great sign up bonus for the inevitable new house purchases
..
I got New barclays card and transferred my old limit on new card . The old card that was sold to mercury was officially closed 20 days back and today I got mercury card ... ugh need to call and cancel the card before it shows up my credit score
