I've never done uber and only wanted it for the %4 dining
Savor (or Savor One) is a good alternative. 3-4% back on dining and entertainment, 2% back on groceries, and a good sign up bonus.
Tripple Whipple??? No thank you.
I've set my BOA to dining to get 3% back.
Amex- 3% groceries/BJ's 3%
And CFU %1.5 on evrything else.
Dammit!!! Uber Cash is worthless if you don't use Uber for anything... I wonder if you can opt out and convert it to another option under the Barclay's umbrella. I checked my account and there's still cash redemption option there. Wondering if the refresh won't have an effect on things while still under the 1st year umbrella of protection from changes.... though it's a rewards change not a card terms change.
Although there's not really any stunning options with them in general at this point since they don't really offer core products any longer from what I've been seeing for the last few years.
Time to run down the list of cards and see what's going to be a keeper and what's going to the slaughter house. Time to trim some fat and diversify again.

I really could not see how was Uber supposed to benefit from this partnership, while the benefits for Barclay were pretty obvious
These changes may actually appeal to someone who uses Uber a lot.
2% on rides going to 5%. I always thought 2% was weirdly low for their primary service compared to 3x URs on CSR.
4% on Uber Eats going to 5%.
Uber cash is usually sold at a 5% discount ($95 for $100 of credit)...so more like 4.75% now than 5%.
They will appeal to those who use Uber a lot. Before these changes were made, it made very little difference if one did or not.
That's the part that I dont understand, why Uber agreed to rewards structure in it's previous itineration.
It really did very little to encourage use of their services.
At least we know now why card disappeared from their website for a while
Kind of smorg here, but while we have people gathered who know about Uber Cash...
I have some sort of bug related to my credit balance. I've used up those funds, along with the monthly Amex credit. The desktop website shows the correct credit balance ($0) and my CCs have been charged the correct amount (after one dispute I raised months ago when they changed the price in several ways mid-ride). But since then the app has been unable to display the correct balance.
Uber CS is useless in fixing this. All they say is to close and reopen the app, or reinstall it. I reinstall it and still get this bug.
Uber card uber bad now.
Uber nerf.
are you kidding me i just got this card! when does it change over?
This gives a little more insight https://onemileatatime.com/uber-credit-card-changes/ Looks like things are safe into the first 1/2 of 2020 before they muck with existing accounts. Really not impressed with the auto convert feature at $50 if you plan on keeping the card past the current iteration.
yeah i just saw that, and i'm about to call up barclays and tell them off, i literally just got this stupid card and used it only twice and now i see this. they don't even have the decency to grandfather the existing cardholders like they did with savor when it got moved to an AF.

Phew! I'm at 2200 points of the 2500 needed to redeem for cashback. I only use if for dining, so once I cash out I'll just toss it a Netflix sub every few months to keep it active, $6k CL. Oddly I still have Barclays Cashback MC w/$10k CL that's been closed to new apps for years, I just use it for 2% rewards for my electric bill to keep it active.
Barclays is the absolute worst for nerfing/screwing with then CCs.
