Exactly. I don't want to get rid of the card, so a PC would be nice unless it stays bucketed. Not a fan of the other Cap1 cards, so the Venture seems like my best option, doubling as a cheap travel alternative to the Platinum AmEX and CSR. The Pre-check reimbursement and travel rewards are its biggest draw for me.

You can't have seven cards. What happens is that your application for a subprime card will be declined if you have two or more Capital One cards. Your application for a prime card will be declined if you have five or more Capital One cards. That adds up to being able to have five cards, two of which may be — but don't have to be — subprime.
@JYKim1, you've probably heard that QuicksilverOne cards are notoriously difficult to product-change (PC). We have several data points indicating that consecutive months of usage may help to coax an offer. I was able to PC two QS1 cards after twelve or thirteen consecutive months of usage. The bottom line is to use the card each and every month, make a payment each and every month, and call in to check for offers each month. You don't have to charge very much. And if you wish to pay before the statement cuts, that's fine.
Yeah, that seems to be the consensus. I have some billpay coming from this card, so I'll have consistent usage at low dollar amounts. I will probably wait it out to see if I can PC the QS1. I've got some things to work on in the meantime (defaulted student loans), so I'm not in any rush.

I have 3 and had 4 or 5 at one time.
No need to lose anything.
Check prequal.

I thought the max was 2 prime cards? This whole time I'm thinking I have to close my 15k QS in order to app for Venture again

I was thinking the same.
