Citi will actually allow you to balance transfer into your own account and use the money for your own purposes. No paper checks needed. This saves the step of having balance transfer checks come throuhg the mail (especially when you are not expecting them or don't know they are coming), and having someone else intercept them.
Not sure if Cap One does this but defintiely worth asking. I called BoA today and asked them to please never send me any BT checks in the mail. Problem with theses is that you don't kow when/ if they are coming - thus you'd never miss them if someone else got hold of them. Just a thought.

i never got any of those capital one checks in the mail. Maybe because im paperless. i do not know. They only let me get by the no-BT fee but charge me 22.99% for any balance transfers. ''Pay the same variable 22.9% APR for balance transfers as you do for card purchases.'' Thats why i never look at themfor balance transfers.
I have 0% balance transfers on my Quicksilver and I go paperless. Have not really used them however.

Yes. i had this offer a few months ago. Which i completely ignored. I guess thats what prompted them to send the BT checks. also to other poster. The reason no recurring charges because the offer says if you make new purchases you will pay interest. so the key is to Transfer whatever you need. Let the card sit until you pay your balance completely off. That is the term of the deal. Hence can't have even a single charge on the card other than the BT. Also i am also paperless. it has nothing to do with the BT offers. paperless or not. This is just a special promo that they are trying. So your settings don't apply. Not all Bt offers get the checks. As i said. after 18 months this is the first time ever getting checks. although i had the other bT offers before. no BT fee. but high interest. I would rather pay the BT fee with no interest. So basically. Im getting a 1 year loan for $2500. for a flat fee of $75.00.
i just got some checks today and it says in the fine print they might decline it if you try to BT to a Checking or Savings account, but if you qualify for a No Hassle Check, they will just send you a check made out to you to cash.

This is correct. It does say they may decline that if you attempt to transfer into a checking or savings account. But im guessing that is if i put said account number on check. I can easily make the check out to my business as it also said i could use for personal loans or large purchases. So making a check out to john doe salad shop is ok. Hence john doe then deposits check into their savings account. some others may let you put your checking or savings account number on the check. Which i will not do. I will simply make the check out to my business. and deposit it into my business account. issue resolved.

Yes. it really is a solid offer up to the full credit limit of your card. even with the BT fee as long as you SD the card all will be well. just can't beat the deal. others have stated about citi as well. And citi does make it easy to BT and they will send a check in your name for cash. But the problem with citi is their limits are just too low.
Update. Had them explain to me about new purchases. Basically if you make new purchases there is interest for that new purchase only. not on the BT. That will always be 0%. so if i write a check for 2k. its no interest for 12 months no matter what.
But if i charge another 500. Then the 500 gets interest unless i pay the entire balance including bT. not just the new purchase.
So new purchases are fine. just make sure your BT is high enough to limit use of the card.
