@Anonymous wrote:My CapOne secured Platinum Mastercard was upgraded to unsecured today after having had it for 10 months. My 49.00 security deposit was refunded and applied to my balance. So that's confirmation that fairly recently issued secured Platinum cards do now graduate to unsecured.
Next step is to see if I can get them to increase the limit or upgrade the card to a QS (I already have the QS1) ... but I'll wait until I'm out of the garden April 3rd.
Capital One limit increase requests are soft pulls, meaning that they don't affect your gardening status. The only restriction is that you have to wait six months after your previous increase. If you're declined for an increase, the clock isn't reset; you can request again soon. And if you're offered an increase that you don't think is high enough, you can decline and ask again as soon as you think you might get a better offer.
Also, product changes don't involve any kind of pull. You can check in every month or so until an offer appears. Make sure the offer is for a full Quicksilver with no fee rather than for a QuicksilverOne.
Just stay in the Garden and use often and PIF and after a year or two you will be well on your way. The hardest part in improving your credit profile is waiting. It will be worth it.

That's great to know ... but I don't know what you mean by "an offer appears". Do you mean they will send me product change offers?
More than likely, you'll have to call periodically and ask. About once a month is good.
Or as an option, you can try the link in the first post in this thread:
Congrats on the upgrade! Question, what was your original limit on the Secured card? Did you get the credit steps increase at 5-6 months and if so how much was it? Just curious, I opened mine in May and I have made the first 5 monthly payments on time, but haven't received the increase. Hoping my card graduates in the future as well.

Capital One check for upgrade link
That worked, thanks! I checked the upgrade link and there was an offer to upgrade the platinum to QS.

The original limit was 500.00. I didn't get any step increases.
