You can't obtain a subprime Capital One card if your have two or more open Capital One cards. You can't obtain a "good" Capital One card if you have five or more open Capital One cards. Because I have three Capital One cards, I'm eligible to apply for a Venture but not a Platinum.
The information below is in the "Rate and fee information" box on each card's page.

@imaximous wrote:Definitely, $750 is a pretty good deal to pass up. I'd probably re-apply instead of PC. My Savor is a waste of a $40K+ CL right now. I keep using it because I fear a CLD too, but it went from seeing a few $K a month in charges as Venture to a few bucks as Savor.
What's the rule for re-applying to be eligible for the SUB again? I think it's 24 months but not sure.
I don't think Cap One has a sub rule, but that may have changed lately after seeing so many people getting denied for cards as well.
I do know that you can only hold 2 Cap One cards max, and only 1 card approval every 6 months.
Nah, that's either a soft or YMMV rule there. I had the Venture and two QS cards at one point so they definitely allow more than 2 prime cards. They do limit customers to 2 sub-prime cards though last time I saw.
Good to know. I've only had 2 at once -- now only 1. But every site I've read, they mention the 2 card rule: TPG, DoC, Wallethub, etc. And they're not referring to sub-prime cards.
I guess for the majority of people they may limit cardholders to 2 prime cards but I can assure that having more than 2 is definitely possible. Screenshot from my Credit Karma report last month showing (at the time) all three active Capital One cards.
Oh. I totally believed you when you said you had 3 cards. I was just telling you where I got my information or rather misinformation from.
Good info @simplynoir! Thanks for sharing!

Does this mean every mile is worth 1.5 cents if transferred to a partner?Yes.
? Is this assuming an airline mile is worth 2cpp? Transfer is 2 venture miles become 1.5 airline miles, so each venture mile is 0.75 airline miles.
I initially thought "whatever" about cap one getting into the transferable milage game, but I am starting to do more research. The one transfer partner i am interested in Aeroplan since they are also partners with Amex. Trying to find some nice sweetspots where you could get some good value. If i am reading it correctly , 155k RT from JFK-TPE-BKK in J. That sounds like not too bad of a deal, since the same flight using UR is 180k. The initial resarch i have come up with trying to find what fuel surcharges are with aeroplan in general are, they don't seem that bad when using BR. Its an interesting turn of events. I will say that.
Sweet deal. I got in with the $59 annual fee 2016. Yes you can have 3 prime cards. Unless it changed since 2016. See below. 2 WEMC's QS & Savor at 10k and the Venture VS at 16K.

No re-applying restrictions for subs as most i have seen they have honored less than 24 months, but the problem is getting approved with Cap1 anymore.. If you have good credit and alot of credit and more-so over 6 or so new accounts in the last year you most likely will be denied.. They are harder to get than Chase these days practically or they are.. They aren't score driven either they will approve someone with a 660 score say with only a few cards and limited credit for say 20k, but turn down a person with a 800+ score with loads of credit.. Cap1 crushes more churners dreams as of the last yearish time frame.
DOC, Reddit are littered with people denied in the high 800's, high income, etc..The very few odd post of an actual approval. They have certainly changed from what they were a few years back
I've been pre-qualified for Venture, QS, and Savor on and off--seems like every other month. I'm currently working on my SPG sub right now--otherwise I'd be curious to see if they'd give me another Venture Card. I got the first two with $15k SLs over 3 years ago when I had all 3 sub 700 scores and dirty files.

Mmm. A one way long-haul on Hainan is 50k miles. But Avianca is also an option, as is Aeroplan. I really need to stop reading this forum as I get closer to my BK falling off EQ and EX this spring. It’s already gone from TU. Thank goodness Cap One triple pulls otherwise i’d be in trouble. I’m already trying to stay good so as to not spook Chase into closing my IHG card.

And because a “Venture Mile” now has Transfer partner Airlines, a “Venture Mile” used in Purchase Eraser is still 1 cent. A “Venture Mile” transferred to an airline is .75 of that airline mile, and the value of the Mile at that airline depends on how it is used.
The answer to the original question is, No.
