I can't wait to get the new one! I like the way it looks now, but I guess change is good

Re: Capital One QS now with EMV. Embossed numbers?

I got a pc a week ago or so and I received an email saying that they mailed it a couple days ago. The person I spoke to on chat told me that my card wouldn't be embossed but I now hope it is. I'll be back to update.

I heard from CS that my QS WMC is scheduled for EMV upgrade on July 15. They definitely have a timeline for everyone. Call them to find out if you haven't been upgraded.

Re: Capital One QS now with EMV. Embossed numbers?

I called about another issue with my card (it never ends with capital one) and brought up the EMV cards and the CSR I had no idea what I was talking about. My god, even people who don't give a rate a** about credit cards know what they are.

The CSR put me on hold to talk to her supervisor. She came back right away and said she would send me a chip card for my Mastercard (because I mentioned the picture) but said my Visa was not eligible for the upgrade yet. So I'm guessing as soon as you see the picture you can call and they should be able to send it to you. Funny thing is, I didn't even tell her I wanted one I just asked when they were sending them out.

Regarding the image cards, from here.

  1. Can I get this on my image card?

Not just yet, and if you've recently received an email that your request was declined, we may be in the process of upgrading your card to chip. Image card will be available to you in the near future.

I asked about that too and she told me you couldn't have a chip card if you had an image card but after reading what you posted they may be available at a later date I guess. I just can't see one of the cheapest credit card companies allowing to change our chip cards every 30 days.

Re: Capital One QS now with EMV. Embossed numbers?

The thing I hated the most about my original Quicksilver card was the fact that it had a fake shine printed on.  When looking at a picture of the card online, it looks pretty cool and shiny.  But in person, you can see that it is a fake shine!  I still can't get over that.  In contrast, my Discover it card has a real shine that actually moves with the light.  That card looks and feels 100% better than my original Quicksilver card.  However, I do like my Quicksilver image card with the embossed numbers and letters.  The new EMV version looks somewhat promising, I just hope it doesn't have a fake shine as well.

Another minor gripe of mine is the fact that I'm using one of the Capital One stock images for my card, yet they show a default/generic "your image" photo for my Quicksilver card next to my online account.  Since I selected one of their images, I think they should show it there instead of that dummy "your image" picture.  These are just minor cosmetic gripes of mine.

I noticed my icon changed on my account screen, opened chat and they said I was eligible. They are mailing me a new card. I'm assuming chip and sign, but admittedly forgot to confirm.
