Pretty sure in the event a person doesn't qualify for the MC, they will be given the Store card. But I imagine this card would be on par with Quicksilver. 650 and above, anything under would probably barely sneak in with not great terms.
It is Cap1 though, and they probably want to approve as many as possible to satisfy requirements for obtaining the account.

Will the MC be a Visa?
Doubtful. Of course anything is possible with Capital One. Cabela's Visa CCs were converted to MCs during the transition.
There's a ton of info about the transition on Walmart's store site. Link is: https://www.walmart.com/cp/walmart-credit-card-transition/3559436 .
FAQ has answers to a lot of the questions being mentioned.

Interesting. This card will have extended warranty benefits.
"Extended Warranty
Extended Warranty doubles the original manufacturer's warranty and store brand/purchased warranty, where each is 24 months or less, for a total of up to 48 months.
**Benefits are subject to terms, conditions and limitations, including limitations on the amount of coverage. Coverage is provided by New Hampshire Insurance Company, an AIG company. Policy provides secondary coverage only."

I wonder if this counts towards Cap ones limit of only having a maximum of 2 prime cards since I already have the Savor and QS.
Limits only apply to Capital One's core product line. They don't apply to co-branded or store cards.
So it's clear, one can have up to five of Capital One's core cards. But you'll be denied a subprime card if you already have two Capital One cards.
I'm hoping Capital One will have a pre-qual tool for the new cards like it does for Kohl's.

Which could come in useful for some of the stuff sold at Walmart.
I saw this in the FAQ and I didn't see any details on why it would be an issue:
If for any reason your account is not transferred to Capital One, Synchrony Bank will communicate with you as necessary to continue to administer and service your account.
Are they going to treat it as a new account and re-evaluate our credit?
Also does this mean if I have a balance I should pay it off ASAP to look more desireable to Cap1?
