Platinum in this case is the Visa/MasterCard branding. I assume that the front of your card says Quicksilver. It's very possible that you're still in sub-prime land, but at least you're now earning rewards and have lost the fee. ![]()

I currently get cash rewards at 1.5% as if it was a Quicksilver. I would love to upgrade it to the Savor card but I don't think they'll let me do that.
@Anonymous, call or hop into chat and ask. Lots of Quicksilver cards are being offered product-changes to Savor. But the Savor offers aren't yet showing up via the link.
I got the option to upgrade my Platinum to a QS keeping everything the same, even the $39 AF. I decided to not go through with it as I'm considering canceling that old accnt. If they would have dropped the AF, I probably would have taken it.
IDK, do the still offer those old Platinum Cards or is everything QS and Venture these days? I'm considering apping for the Savor after my recent activity falls off.
@Anonymous, you were likely offered the QuicksilverOne, which is the 1.5% rewards card with a fee.
Capital One's current Platinum product is a no-fee card. The QuicksilverOne is offered to those with similar credit except that you get rewards in exchange for a fee.
It's notoriously difficult to product-change a Capital One card with a fee into a no-fee card, but it's been done. I was able to PC two QS1s after 12 or 13 consecutive months of usage. I don't know if usage was the key or not as we don't have enough data points on that. But it's something to try if you really prefer to keep the card. Of course, if you're doing that, you'll want to make sure to call in every month to see if upgrade offers area available.
Since I am still in subprime land after going from a platinum to a QS, I closed my account. I've had the account for over a year and only one cli from 300 to 400. I didn't even get a cli after I received my new QS. Once my scores are higher, I'll reconsider apping again.
