I doing this way my post did not come. I had Cap One master card for over 15 years with cl of 4.7K anand when I ask for cl increase answer I get back is do not make large enough payments. I don't carry large balance about $300 and go for month with out a balance. Never have problem with Bank America I just got increase of 2K now have cl of 12k with them. Discover never have problem with them also cl 25.5 k with discover have score of 780 total cl of 118k on all my cards. Any one Know whats up with Cap One?
In short your card is probably in bucketed if you've tried putting spend on it with full payments every month. Here's a thread to help you out. There are more like this if you want to search the forum.
firefox100 ... same thing happened to me and I moved on and closed several Cap1 Cards. As one poster stated, they do report for ten years so all is not lost. Sock Drawing it with and occasional spend works too.
You need to spend more than $300 a month to raise the limit on a 4.7k Capital One card. If your spending is in the range of 1–1.5k for three or four months, you should be in line for an increase, provided your card isn't stuck in an undesirable bucket.
Hi if I spend what you say about 1500 dollars per months that will be over 25 percent and drag my score down. I don't understand what is Cap One thinking if thay want me to use ther card then thay should raise cl so that customer will spend on the card. Thay don't even have reconsideration line. I don't think thay care about ther customer base. I am not going to give up the card but I think ther are lot oter banks that are better then Cap one, what do other think of Cap one?
Cap One is great for rebuilders but that’s about the extent of it. They get quickly outclassed by other lenders and if you’re eligible for Navy Federal, Cap isn’t even that useful during a rebuild.
I made a post the other day about my Capital One cards. Stagnant, not going anywhere. I was just recently able to combine accounts and Pc'd to a better card. Not sure what card you have but you could app for a better product and combine accounts, hence combining cl's.

Doesnt matter how much you spend on the card during a cycle. More is better for CLI's like Heaven said. Its what you have post come statement date time. People make multiple payments some months. It all comes down to whats reported to the CRA's each month which should be <8.99% unless its a major purchase or emergency. Not how much you spent between statement dates.
sen't want to keep customer who have had card for over 15 years. I don't understand ther risk model. I have called wal mart master card and got increases over past years with no problem. Even Barclay's is easer then Cap one to deal with. Do others agree with me about Cap One. Does any one have way to contact Cap one to talk to some one at HQ, thank you.
