Chase CSP

I am trying to figure out if Chase will approve me for the CSP card. My EX is 687, TU 651, EQ 649. No collections for EX, 1 on TU and 3 on EQ which should be coming off soon. I have a charge off which is a couple years old. I have a Cap1 AU for 10k with 29% utilization. Is there a chance I can get approved or should I forget about it for now?

Your EX is a little low, but marginal for approval. The real question is do you have any of your own cards, and has one of those been at a $5K or more limit for at least a year?

Chase typically does not like to be your first $5K+ card, and will frequently deny someone for the CSP for inexperience at higher limits.

Re: Chase CSP

The only card of my own at this time is a USAA secured card and is is fairly new.

Re: Chase CSP

I think a Chase CSP is pretty ambitious given your scores, baddies and overall profile.  I doubt you would get approved.  The only way to know for sure is to that the HP and see if you get approved but if I were you I would let the baddies age off that are coming up soon and reduce your utilization and then go for a freedom.

You need at least 6 months to a year of history to get in with Chase, and experience with higher credit limits if you want the CSP. I would wait until you get some of your baddies cleaned up and get a 5K or higher tradeline (not AU) with some history behind it.

I suggest letting your USAA account grow for 6 months before applying for anything else.

Re: Chase CSP

My scores were not far from yours when I first got ahold of a CSP. I had applied right after getting a SW card approved.

nobody has a crystal ball but your scores are a bit weak and your util is high imo.  if you go online do you see a pre-approval?  if there is a branch close you could also try for a pre-approval there - if there is one I would consider it but note it might be a 2x hp.  I am not much into blind apps but that is just me

Re: Chase CSP

I didn't even see the utilization.

Yeah. I'd get that down or off your files if possible.

Re: Chase CSP

What is your income level?

If your income is over a certain point and with those scores Chase may approve you. I would do the pre-qualification tool Chase has and see if any offers pop up as well as possibly consult in-branch.

Hope this helps!!
