So, getting back to those categories... I'm relieved that Chase didn't go with concert tickets, theatre tickets, and movie theatres for Q3. After gym memberships for Q2, it wouldn't have come as a shock.
Now we can go back on topic.
I find this quarter to be quite lacking. Had they used Amazon April though June, and grocery July though September, that would made more sense.
With stores being opened, there will be less reliance on Amazon for many.

Yep, mine will be SD'ed, unless I get a good Chase Deal on the card.

Meanwhile, I'm slumming at Walmart, and my massage is getting elbowed by everyone who feels their body habitus requires more space than laws of physics allow ( people try to walk through you as if you weren't a solid object).
Oh, Walmart has its place: for converting MS purchases to money orders. But that's about it. To avoid true but hurtful stereotypes, I won't point out that massages at Walmart are very effective, as everyone is at least 100 pounds overweight and searching for the huge bag of chips which is why they don't see you.
Hey it wasn't me that started the class war by attacking peoples choice of grocery store. I wish it was, but too slow.

Prefer Whole Foods over Walmart any day. The overpriced stuff was from years past and overblown. There are deals out there at Whole Foods and certain products available that you can't find other places. If you shop the sales, you will be able to find decent deals at Whole Foods. Some of their products are frankly better and fit people's dietary needs.
I would rather pay a few cents more to shop at Target than Walmart. I don't want to deal with Walmart AT ALL.
Meh, wont get much use this coming quarter, no whole foods within several hundred miles and I dont get much from amazon.

Wanted another quarter of gas stations, or maybe Chase Pay.
Will get used in Q3, but not all that much.
@kilroy8 I definitely could have used another quarter of gas like they did last year. I didn't use much this quarter with Discover and it might pick up somewhat for me next quarter.
I guess I'm willing to just accept whatever quarterly categoreis Chase Freedom and move on. If its a weak quarter for the Freedom that is why I have other cards in my wallet.
Still to this day I haven't picked up a Amazon specific card and next quarter justifies not getting one because of the Chase Freedom bonus. That 5x bonus is really pretty signgificant because the best purchase offer the Amazon Prime Store Card can give you is $100. If I'm looking at a $1400 dollar laptop 5% back is $70. If you value Chase points at 2.0 ccp that value doubles to $140.
With Whole Foods I don't shop there but this 5x for quarter will give me an opportunity to try it out. My pantry is well stocked up from 5x spending at Safeway the past quarter so without needing basic staples I'm willing to give Whole Foods a shot to see what they have. I believe they sell food boxes in store and could try those too.

I wonder if those are the same people who take up a whole aisle to chat, and then look perturbed when you want by to actually shop.
I last visited the local Whole Foods ( north of Seattle ) just after the Amazon acquisition and wasn't too impressed then. Recently went there again during COVID and am impressed with what I think are layout and stocking selections changes. Have been going to PCC a lot because the quality of the foods at these two places is much better than the others.
Also, both WF and PCC work hard to source locally, and that gets my money in the hands of more-local farmers. Less going to the CAFO's and monoculture farmers.
Food is a foundation of good health.
5 UR at WF is enticing, so I will likely be trying to go there more in Q3.
Not to get into the category hate discussion, but since when did we have to activate the 1% off???
