Citi CLI Questions

I've seen multiple posts about Citi CLI's and them mainly being soft pulls. But if I were to just go ahead and do a hard pull for a CLI with Citi, what bureu would be pulled?

Re: Citi CLI Questions

IME, for these requests they pull EQ but it probably depends on location. Citi does like EQ though. I'm in DE.

Re: Citi CLI Questions

Citi does favor EQ but as mentioned it’s a loose guess. I would seriously consider waiting though. Citi is not a bank that will let you rush into higher limits, even with a HP. You’d essentially be asking for their regular $1,500-$3,000 SP CLI in advance, at least that’s how look at it. It’s not worth the HP in my opinion

+1

This matches my experience with Citi.

Re: Citi CLI Questions

I actually went through and tried again for another one just to see what they would say and they approved me for an increase. Last time they said I needed to have a hard pull done but this time it was an instantaneous approval for an increase. I usually don’t try to do Hard Pulls, but was curious in case I ever needed to.

Re: Citi CLI Questions

Thank you!

Now, I'm curious as well that since I've hit above the $5,000 limit, is there a chance of my card moving to a World Elite Card? It would really just be for show if I'm being honest since I believe it really doesn't get as many benefits now as it did before.

Re: Citi CLI Questions

I did a Citi DC CLI in January. My CL with Citi has been 40K since 2008. I figured it was time for one to bring it up to 2019 dollars. It was declined. The result was a hard pull on Experian only. Tiny effect on my score, but I have a thick file.
