I have 2 Discover cards at 3.8k and 6.3k respectively. I want to combine the limits but the Customer service rep says I can't. Has anyone been successful at this?
IIRC, you can only combine accounts whenever one of them is eligible for a CLI.

this but its very hard to do lately. Many , myself included, probably dont try so as to not knock over canoes as Disco be sending out 4506 requests and no one knows what triggers them . Im not worried about income matching but why play with Miss Disco when one can continue to woo her?
If this is true then I won't bother applying for a second discover it card once I get the cashback match for my Miles card. I don't want to end up with 2 discover cards and not be able to combine them into one.

It's not for everyone, but for a variety of folks who hold 2 Discover products, it's provided some decent opportunities 👍.

+1 here. I guess I'm not seeing the problem if you're unable to end up combining them. They're no annual fee cards with great benefits. *shrug*
Having back to back cash back years plus bt offers can be well worth a second card. Heck, i pulled off a 3 peat
It's very possible. Here's how it went for me:
Open 1st Disco It 08/07/19 CL $5.5K usage fluctuated between $200 to $1K per month. After 3rd statement tried religiously for an increase monthly with no luck.
On 08/28/20 tried prequal tool and was pre-qualified for 2nd card, I chose Miles with $4K CL. I was pretty excited but still puzzled how I get no love on my It card but approved for another card. Here's the tricky part for me, about 5 days after receiving the Miles card came the time for me to request again the increase on It card and FINALLY came back with $500. Not much but I knew from reading on this forum that the offer left me with 2 decisions. 1) Double Dip - that didn't go well and 2) Bring over limit from 2nd card along with CLI. Guys/Gals when I tell you that was a tough decision to make, It absolutely was! I Hadn't even swiped one single time my Miles card yet within the 5 days of having it! But really did want another 5 figure card on my profile, so closed Miles and moved limit along with CLI with IT for new CL $10K. Guess what else? Tried prequalify again this past Monday the 26th and was approved for another card, this time I chose another IT instead of Miles with a CL of $5K. If anyone is wondering why I didn't go with Miles again is because after PayPal release of the Key I'm able to get more benefit from PayPal quarters now, But TWICE now. Luv Miss Disco.
